It is my 5th wedding anniversary today.
Which means business as usual. Maybe not absolutely and totally. We went after all for the 15k tandem jump and then we had a lovely weekend in London as part of our celebrations. So I thought it be a good idea to celebrate by having a longer than usual run and then doing Insanity training together with A.
First, my watch was discharged so I needed to charge it a bit. Then my foot was aching rather badly. When I finally got my headphones and gear ready (where on earth are all my sport bras hiding???) it was past 2 pm. The sun was still high up in the sky, pure heat all around. I run on the road for about half the way- it was easy on one hand as there were no rocks to negotiate, but no shade made it awful to run.
I could feel my foot complaining about the excercise, just to stop hurting after a while. Then aching again even worse.
I wasn't sure if it was my breathing or muscles giving up, but around 3.6km I had to start walking. I couldn't run any longer. Be it heat or the foot- it was an excuse to slow down. I walked for 2 minutes and started to jog again. That lasted 20 seconds and I had to slow down again. I walked the last kilometre.
After the shower, I had to use an anti inflammatory gel on my foot and yet I still couldn't walk properly. I have been hobbling ever since.
A. Picked me up and we went out for a celebratory sushi dinner. V was amazing using chopsticks and I was full of love for my little 3 year old.
I made her a red apple juice from our own apples and we had to call it a day. I think I should wait for my foot to get better before doing any impact activities (Insanity or running). It's really disappointing.
The positive points - I bettered myself on the first 3 kilometres :)
