Summary: Sometimes, the antics of Julia's best friend and her classmates frustrated her to no end. On one such occasion, Julia chose to seek out a quiet place.
Julia, of course, took great pleasure in watching the interactions between Mizuki and her two "suitors." Watching the drama of one's best friend's life was more than a little entertaining-especially when said best friend was attending a boys' school disguised as a boy herself. The fact that she still had two distinctly male potential romantic interests just made it even more entertaining.
But now that she was starting to harbor suspicions that Sano actually knew that Mizuki was a girl, things were a little different. (Nakatsu, of course, couldn't possibly suspect anything, let alone know. She wasn't joking when she called him 'Monkey.')
Sometimes, contemplating these complicated relationships made her want a little quiet, away from the drama of the Sano-Mizuki-Nakatsu triangle (and away from Nakatsu all together, because he just made her feel the need to scream bloody murder, not to mention Nakatsu's crazy psychic roommate who was constantly seeing spirits, and the R.A. who was constantly trying to flirt with her). This was how she found her way into the school nurse's office.
Nurse's offices were good. Nurse's offices were quiet. Nurse's offices contained the school nurse, who was nice, compassionate and quiet.
"May I help you?" asked a cool, collected man at the desk as she slid open the door to the nurse's office.
"I just need...a bit of quiet for a few minutes," sighed Julia. Something was going off in the back of her mind. This nurse was Rio's elder brother, if she recalled correctly...and the faculty who had accompanied Mizuki's school on their school trip to Hokkaido. Piecing together what information she could recall of this teacher, Julia found that there was nothing particularly substancial.
Sighing, she settled for passing off the little pull at the back of her mind as a small after effect of the irritation she had been experiencing around Mizuki and the boys.
Julia lay back with an exhausted sigh.
"More trouble in paradise?" asked the doctor sympathetically.
"Tell me about it. They're always so- I'm sorry, what did you mean?" Not that playing dumb at this point could be guaranteed to do very much.
"I think you understood me. I was talking about Sano and Ashiya."
"But-" Julia racked her brain. Was this guy supposed to know that Mizuki was a girl? "Mizuki's a boy!"
"And Sano's a boy." Julia blinked. The teacher turned his chair to face her, a smirk on his face. "That never stopped me."
Julia stared. "You mean you're-"
The door crashed open. Julia jumped. To her shock, so did the doctor, with an alarmed look towards the door, after which he proceeded to scramble off his chair, over his desk and out the window.
"Sempai, don't run!" said the newly arrived man in a wheedling tone, crossing the room, chair and desk in record time to catch the doctor around the waist before he had a single leg out the window.
"You're asking the impossible," grumbled Dr. Umeda, continuing to attempt to pull away in a manner that seemed to Julia completely resigned to the fact that he wasn't about to get away by any means.
"I had the best idea," the new arrival announced.
"I don't want to hear it!" declared the doctor.
"We're going to set up a photo shoot like last time, only this time with the five best-looking boys from this school and the five best-looking girls from Blossom, and then we could-"
"No."
"But with a group like that, we could do girl-girl, girl-boy, and not just boy-boy!"
"The first two don't interest me."
"But I don't want you looking at other men anyway."
"Why should that bother me?"
"Sempai!" whined the man.
"God, isn't any part of this school even remotely normal or quiet!?" demanded Julia. Then she blinked as the pair turned to stare at her. She hadn't meant to voice that.
Well, so long as she'd had an outburst, she may as well follow through with it.
Julia turned and stormed out of the office, slamming the door closed behind her.
"Who was that?" Akiha asked after a moment.
"American friend of Ashiya's and Rio's," Umeda answered shortly.
Then Akiha seemed to remember that he hadn't molested Umeda quite enough for the day yet, and proceeded to do so.
