It was over?

Izlude waited a while longer, truthfully alarmed at first when he saw the double disappear into a cloud that entered Zalbag's body, then finally sheathed his sword. He couldn't pretend to fully understand what had taken place. Fears and doubts had somehow gained a physical form, but acceptance had been the key to defeating that "monster"?

That was how it seemed - and that was a reassuring thought. It was human to fear and doubt, no matter how strong a person was. Acknowledging these and facing them, not denying their existence, was the right thing to do and the way to fight one's inner demons.

Not for the first time, Izlude wondered if his father's Stone had sensed something and used that to seize a hold over Vormav, until there was nothing left of the man he had once been. But there was no one to turn to for the answer, was there?

Perhaps it was wrong to think about it at all, to hope that was the case... His father hadn't been a weak-willed man lacking in faith. But any other answer--

Izlude forced himself to banish all those thoughts for now.

This had ended well.

Edge was going to let the seemingly family members have their moment. He wasn’t sure what was going on or what had happened with Zalbag, but he knew that he didn’t want to be around at the moment. So, he was going to find a place to stand quietly and wait. It would have been nice to have a Good Job, Edge Thanks for getting rid of the monster while we sat around and talked.

Honestly, he didn’t need anything like that. He just liked having his ego stroked sometimes.

With both Ramza and Alma so near him, Zalbag could do no other but take them both in his arms. Knowing this, there was a part of Zalbag that was starting to realize that the family he had left were finally picking up the pieces. Zalbag knew full well that he had been given a second chance with life. Especially so being here. And there was no way he was going to give up on that chance.

"How I've missed you both so...." Zalbag spoke so softly, amidst all the emotion that was flowing through him. And even softer still, "...I'm so sorry...."
