Apparently neither do I. XD ultimate_virtue June 27 2009, 05:18:55 UTC
He hadn't been waiting long when she answered. In the back of his mind, he had her pictured. Hair would be perfect. Dress would be appropriate length to show the long, slender legs that he always pretended not to notice. And... well... It was hard to ignore the well-endowed bust too. Those weren't really things he had plans of sharing with her. Well, the hair thing, maybe, and he'd at least say she was pretty. Anything beyond that? It wasn't happening.

"Well, I'd hope so, as we live right next to each other," Jack commented.

He tried to imagine a reason as to why he'd be late, but it wasn't working. The only thing he could think of was the idea that he'd suddenly come down with cold feet and just not show up.

He offered her an arm, "Are you ready to go? Or do you need a little more time to get ready?"

And that was an excellent question. Jack had told her at the start of all of this, that it was wherever she wanted to go. Unfortunately, Aegean didn't have a lot of high class places that a high class lady could go. And he couldn't be certain he had enough Gella to be sure he could pay for some. Imagine that. A treasure hunter with no... treasure.

Jack fingered his smooth chin, perfectly so for her, though the thought of goodnight kisses was still a questionable one. "I did say anything you wanted was acceptable. If you're hungry, I'll take you for dinner. If you're more interested in something a bit different, I think there are some hot springs around, or a walk on the beach. It's not like we're limited to just one thing."

What he could guess, however, was that because it was a date, it needed to be a little special, which meant no doing normal stuff--like hanging out at Sicily's. After all, Jack had taken the night off.

I adore you anyway, so don't worry about it. :D ultimate_virtue June 29 2009, 18:27:57 UTC
He'd kept his eyes on her until she mentioned the hot springs. Then he pointedly looked away, mainly so she couldn't see how red he was turning. He wasn't so interested in the idea. He just thought it seemed like something she would like. Every once in a while he had to let go of his own comfort, right? Nothing like trying something new. However, he had to admit that he wanted to crawl right back into his shell.

He peered over to her once she'd stated she wanted to go to the beach. Now that he could swing. "Sounds like a good plan to me," he nodded with his consent. He wasn't sure what he thought of the whole dip thing, but he could deal with talking about himself and letting her get to know him a little closer. After all, she only knew that he was a treasure hunter. When he thought about it, Jack didn't say much of himself at all. Then again, what was there to say? That whole Garrett Stampede business aside...

And who was he to tell her to stop? After all, Jack really couldn't define himself as a gentleman. If she didn't know her way around, yes, he would have shown the way. She was doing fine on her own, though, and she made it very apparent that she didn't need his help. That was okay too ( ... )

"Yeah, for anyone not wearing lots of clothes," he replied as he looked down to her. He didn't seem against the idea of her leaning upon him and he took it as a good sign that he hadn't said anything too stupid to make her leave. That was sure to change somewhere along the lines.

He thought about her inquiry, thinking back to how it had all started. Was it when Arcticle's Castle fell to demons? Or was it when they'd returned at the festivities in Adlehyde? He didn't know. He couldn't say for sure. He did know that as much as he denied it, he thought about it a lot.

"There was a castle in the north that fell to demons. One person survived, but only by the tactics of another who was sacrificed. That entire group, however, completely diminished in such a short period of time." Then he played upon his grin, perhaps sarcastic in meaning, "You hear stuff like that and tend to believe it!"

She didn't catch it. That was all right. One day he'd say something and explain it better for him. And if he didn't, then he didn't. It wasn't a big deal to him.

"Yeah," he agreed. "You're right. I can't say I surround myself with people who stretch the truth, though..." Most of it was said to himself since she had decided to talk about Heaven. Jack still wasn't sure what he thought of it. From talking to her and Peorth, however, it always seemed like they knew exactly what they were talking about. Perhaps there was a little something more to this Heaven and goddesses thing than he'd thought.

I don't think I'd get along well there. I don't much care for authority.

He supposed a visit would be out of the question--not that a mortal could go anyway, he assumed. He thought he could take it easy too, until Urd saw the beach. And pulled him along. He rushed to follow after her, or at least to keep up. He didn't feel like falling into the sand.

"You're like a kid in a candy store..."

Yeah. He expected that response. Urd's love for sake probably went over her love for anything else. He didn't mind, though. A goddess was allowed to have her prerogatives. He wanted to have his treasure, she wanted to have booze. What a pair they made. And when he really thought about it, he was more interested in the hunting of treasure than anything else. He wanted the thrill of the chase.

He watched her remove her shoes and for a moment thought about doing the same, but the idea of sand between his toes wasn't that... appealing to him. And he had tried to look a little nicer for her too. No sense in messing that up. Well, not yet anymore.

"Come back and I'll walk with you," he grinned as he offered his left hand to her. It couldn't hurt to make her work a little more for the attention. Of course, she had it.

For a moment, he believed she wouldn't take his hand. It was all right if she didn't. He'd never really offered it before. He didn't expect her to accept it. Urd was a big, tough girl. She didn't need him escorting her anywhere, but he did know she liked to have that special affection that he typically stuck in a jar and didn't bother opening or sharing.

His fingers closed around her hand and he nodded, "Understandable. I haven't come either. Not by myself. Not with company. I've been meaning to." Unlike the typical couple, however, he was looking for some type of ancient monument. He'd scouted other places in Aegean, but hadn't actually started digging or anything of that nature. Eventually he'd get to it. When he wasn't working.
