Link fidgeted with his coat as he led Princess Peach into the prom. He really wasn't used to wearing these kinds of clothes. He had tried on the shoes before he bought them, but they still weren't broken in, and they felt stiff and uncomfortable. His other clothes weren't too bad. The green shirt was alright, and the black slacks weren't as comfortable as they looked, but he'd survive. It was a little warm for the coat though.

Link remembered to get Peach a small pink rose before the prom. He had spent almost all of his money, which wasn't a lot, on the outfit he was currently wearing, and he didn't have enough for anything else that the princess would have found acceptable. He was flat broke now, and he hoped that this event would be worth the trouble.

The princess was cute, and she seemed excited enough to go to the dance with him, which brought up his spirits a bit. He hoped that she'd have a good time. He also hoped that another princess would have fun as well.

'You're going with someone else, don't think about her!' ( ... )

Peach was so incredibly excited! She had a date with someone new (although she swore she'd met him before, but she just couldn't put a finger on it) and even better, he was cute! He was incredibly charming too. He had such manners.

She accepted the rose with such a cheerful smile, even gave him a thank you kiss on the cheek (platonic of course, dear Zelda ♥). She took his arm and skipped along, almost glided as they made their way to the prom. Then when he opened the door for her, that's when Peach saw the beautiful decorations. "Oh my, it's so beautiful!"

Link followed Peach inside. The decorations were pretty good. There was a large dance floor with chairs and tables set around it. There were also some tables piled high with various foods and another with a large bowl of punch. The normal lights were dimmed in order for the various colored lights that rolled and zoomed around the room to pop out, and there were colored ribbons and balloons placed everywhere. Music was already booming from the DJ's stereo. Perhaps for any other person going to prom, it looked awesome. Link however, not being one to experience anything even remotely like this, preferred to be in the middle of a monster-infested dungeon. At least he knew what to do in a situation like that.

Despite the anxiety that flooded the hero's stomach, Link kept a smile on his face. "It does look amazing. Would you like me to get you anything?" Link wanted to keep dancing out of the question as long as possible, as he wasn't very confident about his dancing skills. "Looks like they've got enough food to feed an army."

Peach thought for a moment. There was so much to see and do! Oh my she was so excited she could simply jump for joy and squee! But alas, all of that came out in a delicate titter.

"Oh a cup of punch would be most wonderful!" Peach replied. Little did she know that Hiruma had spiked the punch. This would prove to be interesting.

Teta had glanced at the strange woman and the other boy from her corner, almost fascinated. Both of them were well-dressed (most likely more dressed than she was, she could almost be assured of), polite, and they looked nice together.

The woman, especially, made Teta feel self-conscious. A beautiful dress, lovely hair, and that sort of face that would stop most Ivalician men in their tracks. She looked just like a princess, or what she had pictured a Princess to be...

And here Teta was, looking like she was: A Farm girl attempting to dress in nobles' shoes in a social function.

Finishing her cup of this strange fruit-drink (She had overheard one of the people calling it 'punch'?), she stepped towards them, mostly in an attempt to get a better look.

If she actually tried talking to them? She'd look silly for sure.

Peach, of course, had noticed the girl. She seemed quite shy and there was no reason, at least in Peach's mind, that she should be. So of course the pink princess went to greet the stranger.

"Hi ♥!" she exclaimed, her large blue eyes lighting up in excitement of meeting someone new. "I'm Peach!"

Link followed after his date. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to be sticking around with her or if they were allowed to go off an socialize on their own.

He had seen the girl before Peach had trotted over to introduce herself. She looked a little stressed, but then so did Link. He blamed the prom.

Link smiled and nodded his head towards the girl. "I'm Link." The Hero wasn't too bad with names, but he had a feeling that if he and Peach were going to introduce themselves to everyone they saw, then he might be in some trouble. He knew this was a dancing event, but what else do people do at proms?

Oh no! She didn't want to seem inconspicuous, and yet here she was, noticed by not only the beautiful woman ("Peach", her name was), but her companion, Link, as well.

Teta's face flushed, mouth quirking into a soft smile but inside she wanted to go under the snack table and hide there for the rest of the prom (though wouldn't that make her look sillier, hiding under a table?).

"I'm...I'm Teta." Teta said softly, shifting her feet under her. She did her best to keep her gaze level with the two others', but...

That 'punch' seemed good right about now. Somehow, it made her feel less nervous when she was drinking it, even if it did have a strange aftertaste...

"I-It's n-nice to...meet you."

Peach was never really one for having a personal bubble. She was the kind who was incredibly friendly, but only to nice people, and Teta sure seemed nice.

"Why don't you join us for punch?" Peach offered.

Link managed to say, "It's nice to meet you too," before Peach went off. She was a very bubbly person, and Link found it amusing. Peach was very different from Zelda, but she was kind and very energetic.

Teta looked just as Link felt. He was still feeling anxious about this whole prom thing, and he was afraid that he wouldn't be a good date for Peach. He wasn't sure how to act around such a sociable person. He was afraid that she'd drag him around to meet everyone they came in contact with, which wasn't really a bad thing, but Link wasn't a very social person.

He remained in his spot behind his date and let Peach do the talking. He wasn't very good at that.

Wait. She wanted her to join them? She wasn't going to dump the punch bowl over her head and laugh was--

...No, come now. That was the past, and it certainly wasn't that bad. The worst it had been was a few small giggles at her expense and some drink on her face. And even then it was easy enough to clean up.

It...didn't seem like that this time. Teta garnered up her courage, forcing her anxiety down to speak:

"I would be delighted to join you, Lady Peach. You and ser Link, both."

She smiled the best she could, though Teta was sure she looked awkward, a bit. But why was Ser Link hiding behind Lady Peach like that? Was he not accustomed to this sort of thing, as well?

...The thought of it, though it probably wasn't true, made her feel better. At least she wasn't alone.

Peach soon turned around, handing both of them a cup of punch before taking one herself. "No one should be here alone so do join us! Parties are more fun with fun people ♥!"

She took the cup and took a delicate sip. "Oh my! This punch is really good!"

"You can just call me Link." He wasn't about to go around anywhere being called 'Ser Link' as if he was knight or anything.

Link also took some punch and took a sip. It was good, save for a strange aftertaste. He couldn't say it was bad, just...odd. Not wanting to come off rude, he refrained from saying anything and continued to drink it. He also took a small plate and grabbed a few cheese cubes and grapes to munch on. "You should try these. They're pretty good too."

"If you're sure..." Teta said softly, though wasn't that impolite? If he had wished it, then...he must not mind.

Brushing her own anxiety from her mind, she, as well, took another sip of the punch. Though what was that aftertaste? Was that a secret ingredient? It was sort of bitter, but not bad. Perhaps out of place, but...

"It is delicious, yes."

What was she supposed to say? Turning to the snack table, she glanced at some of the strange items. Sausages on little sticks, cheeses...

Teta picked up a small piece of cheese and put it in her mouth, eyes widening at the flavor.

Not mild. It was sharp, strong.

It was...delicious.

"You're right," she finally said, after eating a few more with her back turned to him (eating in front of them like that was impolite. She had to mind her manners. But it was so good!). She looked at them both, genuinely smiling now. "It is different from Ivalice, but it is wonderful."

When would Ramza be here? If she saw him, she'd give him some of this. He just had to try it!

"Oh cubes of cheese!" Peach was overly excited about these. The spiked punch was already starting to get into her mind. The pink princess had never had alcohol before so lightweight would be an understatement. She was already starting to feel really happy.

She finished off the glass and went for another as well as some cheese cubes. "Oh my these are so tasty!"

Link was starting to learn that when Peach got excited, she got excited about everything. He found her behavior to be amusing, if a little over the top.

He took another small sip of the punch when a certain figure caught his eye. Wanting to check it out, Link tapped the princess on the shoulder. "There's someone over on the other side of the dance floor that I want to talk to. I'll be back in a little bit." Link smiled towards Teta. "Now if you excuse me..." He squeezed past a few people that were in his way and left Princess Peach and Teta to sample more of the food that was laid out. He'd have to remember to rejoin them soon.
