It was hard for Furiae to believe that Caim was actually here. She had thought that she was sent into a world without anyone that she knew, but she had been proven wrong ( ... )

What would it be like to see her again? Would she look the same? Or would she be a spitting image of what she had been when Caim was so certain she had died? He didn't want it to be the latter. Her death, like their parents', had hardened him so much, that it almost invoked a system malfunction when he processed her arrival. Even K-Na had picked it out, and he was hardly the brightest crayon in the box.

What's taking her so long?Perhaps it really was just his nightmares manifesting themselves into flesh. And the more he waited, the more antsy he became ( ... )

Starting over in a world without anyone that she knew sounded like the best option. There would be no one around for her to harm or put in dangers away. But, here was Caim and the whole outlook on starting over had shifted. As long as she was able to have him in her life she was happy.

Her heart had almost stopped dead in her chest when she saw him, but it continued beating.

When he touched her cheeks to brush away the tears, Furiae closed her eyes and leaned her face into his touch. Once he was finished, Furiae opened her eyes and smiled up at him. She had opened them just in time to see her nod at him. Carefully she wrapped her arms around him to give him a quick hug. "I have missed you so much."

She seemed a little too happy. He'd never give way to showing her he thought it. A part of him still thought he'd really given up and handed himself to the Watchers. The other part... Well... He was happy too. Relieved was more like it.

Her actions, Caim thought, could have been considered provocative. Were they closer than other siblings? Perhaps. Caim had never known anyone aside from those he'd met in the past year. And of those people, he was unaware of who and who did not have a home for a younger sibling.

He froze when she reached around him. Then carefully he held her to him. It was a foreign feeling, one that he'd only held in his dreams. Just as in Drakengard, he was willing to rest his life down for her. She must have known of this, though. Perhaps. His head inclined and he rested his forehead against hers. And then he rewarded her with a vague upturn of the lips.

I do mirror those sentiments, Furiae. If only you knew.

She saw him as a man that she was in love with. He protected her from everything that he saw as a danger to her. There were things that she dreamed about and thought about that were not right. She tried to stop herself, but there was no way she was able to. Caim consumed most of her thoughts, even when she was burdened with the other thoughts and duties that she had. He was the most important thing to her and it was hard for her not to think about him. She loved him. The love that she was was deeper than any other emotion that she had ever felt before and it made her wonder about things. How would it feel to have him touch parts of her body that had never been touched by another person. There were the more intimate parts of her body, but there were other parts that no one had touched before. She wanted to know what it would be like for him to brush his fingertips along her bare shoulder and down her well defined clavicle ( ... )

Caim's thoughts were often circulating how Furiae might have felt in this situation, or in that predicament. He didn't frequently think of himself or what might have come if he acted on so-and-so consideration. Part of it had to do with the idea that without Furiae, and without Angelus, he was simply alone. In being alone, he felt he had no reason to continue. He had been greatly oppressed in Ares Arcanum, the establishment located on the planet that reminded him of bloodshed. Constantly threatened that were he to act on his impulses, he was faced with the daily struggle to continue living and to avoid the action known only as 'ultimate termination'. With the vanquishing of Ares' authoritative figure, he was returned to Drakengard, a place he didn't want to be ( ... )

Is love a tender thing? It is too rough, too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like thorn. Those words echoed through Furiae's mind as she thought about love. The love that she had for Caim was painful at times but the pain was worth it. For every painful thing there was something good that replaced it. Bad memories are often forgotten and over powered by the good ones. That was the way she wanted them. It was the way she needed them to be in order to be happy. She needed to learn how to be happy on her own instead of looking to Caim to bring her happiness. She loved him and needed him but she wanted to give him the gift of her truly being happy. Without being coaxed into a smile or to appear happy. He deserved that much for being her savior, protector, and anything else that their love might blossom into ( ... )

This situation was hardly fair. He didn't find it right in the least. To think that he would so easily lose himself. What might have been worse, was that Caim was beginning not to care in the least. What difference would it make if anyone knew of his relationship with Furiae? What difference would it make if others saw how they acted together? They weren't from their homeland. They wouldn't understand the situation. Only if they'd been faced with that ridiculous notion of Goddesses and seals would they be able to truly comprehend the situation that Caim and his sister had been put into. He didn't expect that to happen, however. Only those from Drakengard could realize what had truly happened ( ... )
