What was this place of absolute wonder? Zelda was perplexed. She was captivated. It was beautiful and to some degree, near untouchable. Zelda adored it from a first perspective, however. It was not the courtyard by any means, but certainly more likable than Ganondorf's company, wherever he might have been.

She turned when she was addressed and a smile filled her features. No malice lied in her expression and she seemed nothing like her adult counterpart. How could she forget the young boy in green?

"Link! Hello!"

Link ran over to the princess and stopped short of hugging her. He thought back to Sasuke and wondered if Zelda had lost her memories as well.

She must have, for she had a big smile on her face. Maybe he could try to talk to her now and fix his situation...

But honestly, he was just glad to see her smile right now. "Are you ok?" She didn't sound to distressed, but he thought it appropriate to ask anyway.

It was a little surprising to see him approach her at full force. He halted, however, and she relaxed--well, as much as a princess can. A young princess, at that. She looked him over as she took in his question, noting that nothing seemed out of place.

He didn't have his fairy, though. Was she simply not there? She didn't know what to make of that.

"I'm very good, thank you," she replied with a practiced curtsy. "And how do you do? You look good! Like you fit in!" Well, not really. She was just being nice, though.

Link blushed and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Don't know about fitting in, but I'm not too bad I guess." Not yet anyway. He had some things to explain to her, but now wasn't the time.

"You look good too." He paused a bit before going on. "You said something about how we need to return to Hyrule. What's going on?"

He didn't look very confident in himself. She hesitated, although it was brief, and then she retained that bright smile, nodding politely to him. He had something on his mind. It was very easy to determine. She'd let him bring it up of his own accord, however.

"Well, we're from Hyrule, right? We should be where we belong. Not... here. Wherever 'here' might be." She tipped her head to the side and arched a brow, "Right?"

Link nodded, and shifted uneasily. "So, you don't know where we are, or how we got here?" He at least had to tell her what was going on. He could get to his other problem later.

"Come on. I know somewhere we can go for a little bit." Maybe it wasn't the best place to talk about stuff, but it would be better than standing in the middle of the park. Besides, ice cream made him feel better, and he knew Zelda liked it, even if she didn't remember it.

"Not at all," she replied.

Did she seem happy about that? A little, yes. It was like going to the market to play and escaping Impa's prying gaze. She'd been behaving, however. Zelda had attended her tutelage. She had very little to consider having done wrong, so she didn't quite understand what she was doing in a place that wasn't the castle.

Then she raised her eyebrows and smiled. Link wouldn't let anything happen to her. "Okay!" She lifted her skirts and just like that, she was ready to go. It was like being allowed to live an ordinary life. Just like anyone else.

Link smiled and took the princess' hand, running off to the ice cream parlor. "I think you'll like this place."

It wasn't long before they reached their destination. Link Let go of Zelda's hand and opened the door, waving his hand to invite her inside.

Butterflies were flapping viciously in his stomach as he followed Zelda inside the shop. Hopefully, the taste of ice cream would make him feel better.

A childlike flutter filled her heart when he reached for her hand. It was like a childhood infatuation. That was what she was thinking when he began to lead her. It made her happy, just to be with him, even if it wasn't for what she was expecting.

...What was the last thing she could remember? She didn't know... Not off the top of her head.

"Hm...! It looks nice!" she observed as she showed herself in. Not the market, of course, but still nice in its own way.

Link couldn't help but smile. "They sell something called ice cream here. It's like Lon Lon Milk, but frozen and sweet!" He walked over to the freezer and looked at the multitude of flavors that were just waiting to be consumed. "You should try some!"

"Ice cream," she repeated with a small smile. It did sound good.

Her eyebrows lifted and she slipped her hands behind her back somewhat shyly, "If you get some, share it with me, okay? We can have some together! I'd like that." In spite of being far from home. In spite of not knowing what was going on back in Hyrule.

Share?

"Ok. What flavor do you want?" He really didn't care which one she chose. He wanted to try them all. "I know cherry cordial is really good. I don't know how good any others are though."

Guilt was rising once again. He wanted to tell Zelda about...that, but he didn't want her to be mad at him either.

It wasn't like they hadn't shared anything before. Zelda considered Link a very special friend. Her only friend, besides Impa. The princess didn't make friends easily, it seemed. Of course, she didn't often leave the castle.

"Uhm. Then let's get that one." She didn't really know where to begin, and her mind felt strangely fuzzy, so it was so much easier to have him make that sort of decision for him. After all, she'd already been in charge of sending him after the three stones. Wasn't that enough?

Hope it's ok for me to pick.... triedforce October 6 2009, 01:57:34 UTC
Link smiled and waved to the person standing behind the counter. "Can I have two scoops of Cookies 'n Cream?" The ice cream man scooped the frozen treat and handed it to Link, who dropped the money into his hand to pay.

He led Zelda to a small table near the window and took a seat. "Do you want to try it first? I haven't tried this flavor yet."
