Last day of injections today...all we have left is feeding sessions
this Friday, next Tuesday and next Friday. We've been giving injections
for 30 days now, I think it will feel a bit strange tomorrow without
anything to do at 3:30. I think i'll be busy with the last of my
training at Camp Bow-Wow (CBW) though, so no big deal. It was just Brad
and I today, and the girls were very sedate becauce of the weather, so
things went very quickly. Sometimes too many cooks spoil the soup, you
know? Injections are easier with two. We're hoping now that the girls
are off of the estrogen, we will get an increase in the amount of manna
eaten. I'm not so sure it will get washed out of their system so
quickly, but Brad's the boss. ::grins::
Yesterday we did the fourth to last feeding protocol, and everyone was
pretty well behaved. I left after the feeding because I still felt too
shaky to give injections. Just need some more time to rest, I suppose.
I was much better today, and injections went swimmingly. I should be
fine shortly. :)
I personally can't wait for the data to be analyzed and see what we
come up with. Dr. Katz still believes it can be published, even with
the inconsistancies within the individual animals. I mean, I have a
personal interest because I want to do a clone of the study with
progesterone next fall, but that's niether here nor there.
Oh, asked Brad about estrogen's relation to meal size, and apparently
he knows that (duh) and has a control in place to correct specific
individuals' average meal size discrepancies. The animals average
amount of grain consumption was measured during the intial adjustment
period to determine their average meal size. So yeah...just making
sure. :op
Anywho, that's all for now. Another entry to come on Friday.
