(no subject)
i didn't get round to updating after my surgery ooops. needless to say it went fine! i was getting nervous beforehand and my patients kept telling me i'd be fine which was kinda funny. when i actually went to have it done they said i looked scared so mandy one of the surgery team held my hand, which was kinda embarassing. it was pretty uncomfortable and kinda weird cos i knew exactly what was going on, but it's quite brief so ok. the anaesthetic wore off pretty quick so the car journey home was sore and there was still loads of snow up the drive, i was worried i was gonna fall over. it took almost exactly 3 hours for my eyes to calm down. the following day my eyes were getting quite dry and so my vision was a bit misty but i could still see ok. come friday i was back at work. i'd say i can see a bit better than before surgery but i do feel like i'm wearing contact lenses cos my eyes are a bit dry. but they're actually not as dry as i was expecting.
in other news, i have been fitting a kitchen with my dad. is nearly finished now, walls painted, cupboards are in, sink plumbed, extractor fan fitted, new vent made, oven fitted and hob done. all thats left to do is the floor, kickboard, skirty bits to the top and bottom of the cupboards, handles, shelves and tiling... ok so thats still quite a bit.
work has been pretty stressful lately. we are booked back to back and staff have been cut back. i never get a break these days and work LOOOONG days sometimes 9.39-9.30. those who know me will have heard me talking about this a lot. i have started to see what other jobs are available and am gonna do a couple of try out days elsewhere. its a bit scary to think i may have to be looking for new work and worry it'll make it difficult to see jamie too. it all weighs heavy on my mind at the moment.
anyway next week i am off to amsterdam for a few days :) should be good for chilling out. i am really looking forward to it!
