I AM SO GLAD. ♥ IT IS AN INCREDIBLY FUN SERIES. ♥ Easily available in Kino when you return, or you can come over and try the books out (I have most of the books and manga, although, as you might expect, I collect selectively)

re. my horribleness: Why are you so cruel to me, Sensei, what have I done to wrong you ~ (oh god on that note, Episode 5 of Abyss? The whole 'Luke, listen to my voice' Van-and-Luke-on-the-deck scene? 1000000 TIMES GAYER THAN IN THE GAME. Since you have no time, it is (for the moment) on youtube as linked here. re. manga: Steve and Darren are excruciatingly pretty as adults; I am very surprised, because they were scrappy little kids. I had no idea the mangaka could draw pretty men, going by the kids he drew.

re. Evra!: I did not think little Evra was pretty (but as I thought for Steve and Darren, he really does draw little boys like little boys would look IRL. Not especially pretty, but sturdy and tough-looking).

However. I thought grown-up Evra was awfully hot. Will scan you comparison young!/TYL!adult!Evra pictures. I did actually want to scan Evra for this post, then had not much time and in any event I'd really rather make it about Darren and Steve, anyway. ;)

re. fandom stalking: uh... as much as I would love you to stalk the fandom, I don't think there is much to stalk in terms of fanwork (and as for things to keep you interested in fandom... um. There really isn't much). There was some very good Japanese fanart a couple of years back, though; there might be more now.

Oh, so it was that manga I read before. I thought I dreamed it or something, but there was a Darren Shan manga that I looked at long time ago and I think I dropped it because they weren't pretty enough for me. XD /fails

Actually, if you go by the manga, Darren's European. The manga has them using Euros and talking about how "we" suffered and lost lots of lives when World War II spread to Europe.

Kinda weird, since the books were set in the US, I believe (they used dollars in the original books). And I imagine the movie will be set in the US, too.

HAHAHAHA YEAH!! Steve is hot! It surprised me, too: I like to imagine him as being pretty (saw some very good Japanese fanart in my formative years when reading these books); but I did not realistically imagine he would be pretty.

Hahah I mean more like... WHY IS IT A MANGA?? But I guess they've got the rights to make the manga first instead of a typical English comic though.

And woooh. Well, it'll be interesting to watch whenever the movie comes out. Technically Selma's character should look ugly though, yeah?
