ROCKIN ON WITH TOTAL AWESOME

Dec 16, 2007 17:08

Spoilt rotten by yet another EOY event. Despite having to run off halfway due to other familial commitments, I think an AWESOME time was had by all. I didn't expect ANY Yu-Gi-Oh! or Gurren Lagann, and I ended up with not only a KAIBA COSPLAYER, but A GURREN LAGANN COSPLAYER. ♥ Kaiba was very nice, and very Aniki-rather-than-Niisama. And told me ( Read more... )

gurren lagann, ff7, ygo

Ooo, I actually recognized some of the characters, yay me! Only the Final Fantasy ones though. And the Yu-Gi-Oh dude because the kids I used to babysit loved that show (and the card game).

It's okay! *grin* There are so many series in the world, it would be really hard to know all of them! I myself had to ask what the series were a fair bit of the time. I know a lot about the particular series I'm into or those my friends are into, but outside those series I know ... not very much. ;) There are just too many series in the world to know them all well!

*beams!* I'm so happy you recognised the FF characters and spectacularly happy that you recognised the YGO guy! *beams* I grin at the provenance of your familiarity - does that mean you were forced to sit through a lot of YGO as well as the card game, to keep them entertained? Or you were very grateful to the card game for keeping them entertained?

... I suddenly feel really silly for thinking, "I hope that the kids were well-behaved, otherwise... they would be giving fans a bad name!" *laughs*

Ha. They tried to teach me the card game, but they kept changing the rules so that they would win and I couldn't argue because I had no clue how to play. I actually didn't mind watching YGO too much, but I never really paid that much attention to it ( ... )

... evil children! I would be all D: about that. It is a game full of unbelievable rules, though.

Don't worry about it, it is all good! *beams* I'm always happy to hear more about the FF series, especially series I'm not familiar with - which would mean ALL the FFs outside of FF7 and FF12, which I know like the back of my hand. My knowledge is usually very specific and series-focused, which means I know loads about FF7 and FF12, fandom ins and outs, all that, and I don't even know the characters in the other series. So learning more about it is always good! :)

The FF series I always hear the most about that I am unfamiliar with are the FF8 and FFX series. I laugh a lot at how often Square redoes the FF series - I swear that evil corporation has its thumb on the pulse of the fangirl and fanboy heart, for they know so well how to exploit it ( ... )

Well, I'm very behind when it comes to video games. I only get the systems when they are under $150, so I get them when they're old. And the games I only get when they are $19.99 or lower, so I get those when they are really old. I did play my brother's FF12 game for a few minutes on Thanksgiving, but I totally sucked at it. It was SO different from the other games that I was at such a loss on how to combat, but the graphics were so beautiful. My brother ended up taking the controller from me anyway because he got frustrated when I couldn't kill anybody. Hee. And last Christmas he showed me this other game that was really different but it had Vincent from FF7 as the main hero, and the gameplay for that one was more of an action game rather than an RPG, so it was too hard to learn that one too, and my brother took the controller from me with that one too. Ha. But he kept those games, wouldn't let me borrow them for an extended amount of time like he did with his PS1 games. But in all honesty, for FF, I really love the old ( ... )

I usually only get... maybe one game a year. Because they cost so much, it usually takes me to like the game a lot - and be intensely obsessed with it - before I'm willing to pay that kind of money for it ( ... )
