Since I described everything I don't like about various online interaction tools, what if I own up to what I actually would like.

But first, a word about pictures. I forgot to mention in my previous post, and bohemianspirit reminded me, that one of the best things about LJ is the choice of user icons with each post. I love that little 100x100 pixel expression ( Read more... )

Answer to your request: Wordpress.

I'm still learning how to use all of the features, but all of what you want is available. It's not in a "point and click for idiots" format, so there will be a learning curve, but it's all there.

Would you like me to help you set up a ministerial presence for yourself at WP? We could make an afternoon of it, say at Panera, with free internet and yummy sandwiches.

I don't know. For blog and homepage purposes it looks good, but is there data storage capability? (ie sermon uploads) Can I make a dummy link to the sermon archive I have at googlepages if there isn't?

Music (i.e. sound) capabilities: you can pay for them at wordpress (quite reasonable), or you can upload them elsewhere and embed player keys within your blog posts or a separate page on your blog -- far more effective than "dummy links," as listeners won't need to leave your site in order to listen.
