No need for a ridiculously long post today since I did post one yesterday. But I wanted to celebrate a small victory. It's been on my new year's resolutions and my ultimate life to do's for like 10 years now to get a passport so that I might FINALLY feel inclined to leave the country one day and explore other parts of the world. Mostly because I have booked a cruise for April 13 and I HAVE to have it, I finally forced myself to go take care of it. I REALLY don't know why I put it off as long as I did. There were a few pain in the ass things about getting it, but overall it was quite the painless process. So hooray... my passport is not applied for and should hopefully arrive within 4 weeks. Maybe when I get my life figured out I will start planning more awesome vacations.
I did go to the gym today as well and even though it took a lot of procrastinating before I finally decided to go, I was so very glad that I did. I always am when I leave. It's just getting there and even being there that I absolutely dread. Today I did 40 minutes on a bike... a little over 10 miles... and a 30 minute class that I had never taken before. That, in itself, is a huge thing for me to overcome. I am set in my ways and I like what I like. Doing something I have never done before doesn't have quite the draw to me that it once did. This class was called Core and going into it I was a little alarmed that it was only half an hour... until I got in it and realized it was REALLY hard. I'm sure my abs will be screaming at me tomorrow, but that's ok.
Today I also went to the grocery store (I LOVE Wegmans, btw. BEST grocery store ever!) and I picked up several quick grab items for me to take for lunches at work. This is a huge problem of mine... if I don't prepare something in advance to take with me, I end up eating out and spending way too much money and eating really bad shit. I hate with a passion things like Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine meals. I am not a huge fan of sandwiches in general. So it sort of limits me to what I can take to work sometimes. I got a variety of different things and I hope that it helps keep me on track. While I was there I also picked up a few things that I read about on some food blogs and thought I would try. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar... no something I have never heard of before, but something I have never tried as a part of a dieting regime. I decided that I am going to try drinking a few teaspoons a day to see if it helps with tummy fat like many claim that it does. I know that it is also supposed to help with swelling and achy joints. I also bought a jar of Coconut Oil to try as a substitute for butter and other oils while cooking. I read a lot of raving reviews about it and how the fat processes in your body differently than in most oils. It's also supposed to do wonderful things for your hair and skin. I tried it tonight on some green beans that I sauteed and they turned out quite delicious! The other thing I got was Organic Raw Blue Agave to use as a substitute for sugar and other sweeteners. I have had this before, but it's been awhile.
Ok... I know I said no long post and it was anyway. I'm procrastinating bed because that means that when I wake up I will have to go back to work. Ergh :(
