Random BtVS Question

A couple fellow BtVS fans and I were discussing Angel and Spike today and came up with an interesting point that none of us could figure out. Did Angelus ever kill a Slayer? What made him the worst vampire in recorded history? If Spike killed 2 Slayers and Angelus/Angel didn't even kill one, wouldn't he technically be the worst? Or is it because ( Read more... )

Yeah, I think it's just because Angelus was a lot more "evil" (with all the torturing and stuff...). I don't think it has anything to do with slayers because wasn't Spike the only vampire to actually seek them out? And then once Spike actually did start to kill Slayers, Angelus had his soul so he couldn't technically "compete" for the title. *shrugs*

I think Spike was the only one with a yen for them, but I'm not really sure if any of the others ever had a fight with a Slayer. It was brought up in "Fool For Love" that perhaps Angelus had gone up against one, but it's never clarified. Angelus definitely was the more evil of the two, though... and David was so much hotter when he was playing Angelus LOL

I think Angelus killed at least one--when Spike killed one Angelus said "you're one of us now", so. Apart from that, though, I think it was mostly just the sheer number of people he killed. Scourge of Europe and all that.

That's exactly what I was arguing! It was probably a throw-away line of dialogue, but that was my major point. I wish they would've clarified that little bit of info, though - it would've been good to know. And the Scourge of Europe bit is true, too - I forgot about that nickname :)

yeah, I would have to agree with that the level of evil you are depends on the degree at which you did the evil. Spike didn't do it with style; he just like killing. Angelus was always wrapped up in how he would commit the evil. He made evil into an art. Spike acted more like an animal or a human when he kill (little class).

I would have imagined that Angelus would have killed more people that had to do with the real world, creating a bigger impact on society. He had more fun turning a good girl that almost becomes a nun into a crazed, insane killer. I guess the vampire community would have found Spike's slayer kills to be more sophomoric that legendary. Yes, he killed them, but the slayers themselves may not have been the best slayer. Buffy was good because he had a lot of kills under he belt; she didn't die young. It may have been that any adequate vampire could have taken out the slayers Spike killed.

God, I miss this show!! I wish every college would offer classes with this show in mind...
