Well, my Muse really has returned with more than just a vengeance - I've been very busy working on a longer fic that is quite angsty. I really like this story. It is extremely well written and really conveys Elara's sense of grief and loss at the death of her family as well as the stubborn insistence on being useful in any way she can. She is very real and coping with her grief the best she can under very unusual circumstances.

The descriptions are beautiful, with Elara hearing Thranduil's voice and feeling the air currents. It's said the other senses are heightened when vision is damaged. I wonder, could she smell anything when he was nearby? Maybe leaves or fresh air or growing, green things or the aroma of the forest in the fall?

The message of hope is very true to Tolkien.

Thank you so very much! You just made my day!

BTW, Elara hasn't exactly been content to be restricted to this one fic either. She may be a wood-gatherer's wife and daughter, but she's feisty and strong-willed.

She will be interacting with Thranduil again...
