No icons this time. Just some thoughts.

I'm going to talk spoiler-free about the S8 premiere, although I'm also going to reason many different factors of my predictions. I'm not taking responsibility for anybody's sanity after reading this.

I was away for some time and took a break from Talk. It's better this way b/c I decided to participate a lot less in the GSR thread. My old, beloved ( Read more... )

As I was saying before the (previously unrealised) limited word count on comments rudely interupted me...

Well, if she does die. I hope they do it well. I don't require a sexy death (some of your friend disturb me... just a little... lol). I do require an emotional death with tears from Grissom and everything. The vulcan facade must be broken as he realises he risked everything, found happiness and then had it all crushed beneath the heartless whim of cruel circumstance (or indeed a red mustang). The problem then is Grissom's persona and the remainder of the season. If he bounces back, I'll be upset that he didn't mourn longer. If he mopes around for the rest of the season, I'll get annoyed at him because Grumpy Gris is irritating in his random distribution of snark. Sigh.

Maybe Natalie actually kidnapped Sara's clone and the real Sara will return from her holiday and wonder what all the fuss is about. Maybe she can gain superstrength and free herself. Maybe all this is happening in an alternate reality and Gris will shift back to normality soon. Maybe... Maybe I'm watching the wrong genre... Double sigh.

Oh well, I'll always have Optimus Prime. He returned, you know. Sigh.

Hey, being a sci-fi freak is nothing to be ashamed of. I declare it loud and proud! Of course, I'm a sad fangirl geek so that's probably no surprise.

Also, there's the added bonus that sci-fi TV gets the best-looking guys. No better than that: the best-looking geek guys. Better looking than Grissom - sorry Adz but it's true!

yeah, i know what you mean. you see CSI's always been a VERY realistic show. it's not Criminal Minds with stories identical to the plot of Saw 2, about some crazyass psychopaths who torture people in Big Brother labirynth-slaughterhouses where every single room is some kind of a trap and so on (seriously there was an ep like this). most of the CSI storylines do deal with gore, insane people etc but it's never ridiculously unbelievable and made up from the beginning to end. those stories are in some extent almost always based on some true events. in other words: fact is stranger than fiction and that's another thing that made CSI so appealing and allowed this show to succeed.

is Sara going to live? i have no damn clue anymore. it's extremely weird that we have absolutely NO news about her until now. all the spoiler whores are crying about that, lol. firstly it's very possible that they filmed two endings. one - where she lives, and second one where she dies. i heard it's a pretty often used technique when the finale of the story has to be kept top secret. basically, we'll see.

i've never been a huge fan of sci fi shows, never realy watched Star Trek or Star Wars. the farest i went is fantasy and LOTR which i always adored, read all the books and saw the movies. when i was like 15, i loved HP too, and i still like it. but i can see where are you coming from cuz i have many friends who do like it.

me too, i don't want a Grumpy!Grissom. but what is gonna happen if she lives? is Ecklie going to have a problem with both of them what is going to do? what is going to be the team's attitude towards them? there is LOTS of questions, and somehow it seems that it would be easier to kill her off after the relationship is outed.

aggghh, i dunno. lol

Yeah, I've seen that episode of Criminal Minds - I actually really like that show but I do appreciate where you're coming from with regards unrealistic plots, lol. Actually, the eppy you mention may crib directly from Saw 2 but without actually descending to the sick depths of torture porn (I've never seen Saw 2 but I've read about it) - I thought the CM eppy was more psychological. It was more about the victim and the fact that she survives and the young cop and the fact he cares when no-one else does. I felt it made quite a relevant statement about society's attitude to the victims. I don't mind unrealistic plots so long as they have something to say about the human condition - hence my love of sci-fi.

With regards to Sara. Yup, I'm with you on the whole undecided thing. One minute, I think it makes more sense for TPTB to keep her alive. Another, it makes more sense to kill her off. I agree that it is going to be awkward if they do keep Sara alive. Then again, CSI has handled the relationship subtlely so far so I would hope they would continue to do so. My greatest fear is actually that they don't don't kill her off but then her and Gris split up. Coz that would suck. Especially, as I'm convined that TPTB would string us along for some "will they/won't they get back together" action. That could really make the whole thing vey tired. Who knows? I guess, we're gonna have to wait and see. I really hope they have filmed alternate scenes because I love it when they do that - that teaches them spoiler whores! lol.
