of course, it's Anne and Gil. it's canon, pffft. Their epic relationship is one of a kind. Truly. The progress from flirty teasing (cocky Gil, oh pls!) and hurted pride and resentment (Anne, pls!), to getting to know each other (tho inevitably at first), to understanding each other to such a level, that no one else does, is a complete win. Too bad no real-life man can live up to Gilbert Blythe. T_T
The best thing about their relationship is, imo, the mutual respect, they see each other as equals in most all things considered and are able to balance out each other imperfections. so that in the end, they give the very best from themselves. so romantic >_<
