And if it’s Never Land you need; Its light will lead you there

So today I feel the need to embarrass myself for some strange reason. Or maybe because I've been going through old stuff I've scanned on my computer, and felt compelled to upload stuff to share.

This post is very image heavy, and full of things that could make me weep, had I not picked out some that aren't total crap. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the large post.

April 2005

This was made for vintage_green, and was based off of the Fruits Basket style. Media that was used was pencils [for the sketching], an inking pen [I can't remember what kind. 0.5 probably] and colored pencils I found laying around somewhere.

Anyway, I'm still kind of-sort of okay for it, for it being in 2005 and all. That wasn't such an awesome art year to be honest, but I was developing a new style and all, so.

June 2005

My Yakitate!! Japan phase! God, I loved that series so much. I wish I could get into it again, but after I finished the anime I was kind of burnt out. The manga, in my opinion, is ten times more hilarious anyway.

But yeah, I'm a huge Kawachi/Azuma supporter, and this is one of the only drawings [that I know of] I have on this computer that won't shame me into oblivion. It's cute, it's chibi - that should be enough! And don't ask me what Kawachi is doing. I have no clue, myself.

AHAHAHAKJSA. Okay, another one for vintage_green. We had this conversation about how chibi-style arms and hands look like nubs, so I told her I'd draw her with them. Of course, my morbid mind thought of this first, so. It's obvious that I win hardcore.

July 2005

BIG Naruto phase for the longest time. It was around the time that I went "do not want" to school and slowly stopped going. So, I had nothing better to do, and somebody suggested that I watch Naruto because it's long and it would keep me entertained. And yes, it did keep me entertained. Until the crappy filler episodes started, that is. It's why I stopped, really.

ANYWAY. Look, it's a Barrel-o-Sasuke. One of my favorite arcs, and so much to poke fun at. Hence many stupid pictures that I won't show, except for this one.

August 2005

More Naruto fanart. I was very happy with the animals, considering that I can't draw them that well to begin with, but I was "meh" with the characters. They're all supposed to be older, obviously. And I gayed up Sasuke more than I should have, but with him in Pedo's Orochimaru's evil clutches, what did you expect, right?

September 2005

September was honestly a horrible month for me when it comes to drawing. School sucked [I was going like, once a week at the most] and I couldn't do much. But this was some amusement after chatting with Wen on AIM one night after he was showing off some sketches for work. Jerk. [I ♥ you Wen, I promise!]

Proof of such claim of bad art. Yuki and Jayde [vincentsdream's character] when they "lived" together, somewhat. Another long story, which would be a pain to write out since we're still not totally sure what's going on there.

October 2005

Yuki, an original character of mine. Or, well, Kyuu. But that's a completely different story. Though this was the time when I started to become all hardcore into trying to CG and stuff. Usually traditional media used to be more of my style, because I was too lazy to color things or even ink them back then [ ... okay, so I'm still lazy, but I've gotten better at not leaving my art to hang high and dry!].

This was done in Adobe Photoshop [7.0, the only version I use] and I used lots of Burn and Dodge instead of mixing colors together. I was too scared to get into that just yet, in case I fucked something up in the process. Oh, the wonders of learning about layers.

November 2005

Welcome to one of the best phases of my life in 2005, where I was reunited with RPing again at a place called Cross University. I quit for the longest time way back in 2000, I believe. Horrible times that I wish not to speak of, but someone told me to try it out because I started getting into Advent Children, and I really wanted to play Kadaj. But whisperinghope beat me to it, and it was cute because she IMed me to apologize, but wanted to plot.

I could explain said plot, but it would, again, be looooong and tiring. Though this is obviously crack, hence the cats. Huber in the one with the eyepatch, Kadaj is the one throwing the book, and at the bottom is Yazoo and Kadaj.

More kitty Yazoo and Kadaj. ♥

December 2005

By the time plotting got settled in, Yazoo and Tseng were together [another long, long story - hurrah for AUs] and writerz_bloc and I designed their outfits together for this Christmas party. I'm all big into designing clothing and stuff, so I was hopping around all happy-like. ♥ And no, he's not wearing a fucking dress. It's this tunic thing, and I can't explain how it actually works.

Funny thing is, Amanda and I were actually going to make their costumes and go somewhere in them. After much discussion on the matter, the material that would be used would be hella heavy and hot, so the idea was dropped. I'd still like to try it sometime, though.

January 2006

Again, designing clothing time. And all my girls turned into boys once again. I have issues, or something of the sort.

This one was on Deviantart for a while. I can't remember if I saved it there or not when I cleaned stuff up, but. Yeah.

Anyway, this is another thing from Cross University. Tseng and Yazoo. I was trying out more of the style I started a few months back, and decided for the longest time that this was fine. 'Course I wanted to stop using the Burn and Dodge tool, but for this one I didn't give it much depth, hence the no shading or anything.

February 2006

Seriously, ignore Zack's bad anatomy. His bottom half makes me wonder if I saved the PSD file so I can fix it, but I doubt I can fix it without ruining it. Though I was really proud of this for the longest time, and honestly? I still kind of like it. Just because it was one of the first pieces I took my time on, and also made sure the details were right, etc. I also started blending colors together [shades, but no Burn and Dodge this time!] and such.

Usually I don't take the time to make a background, either. But I did, so hurrah.

Though those characters? All FFVII, besides Yuki [blue haired kid]. I had crazy ass muses, I swear. Though I kind of miss playing Amen [the redhead] because I sort of molded him into something I wanted, and kind of became an original character of sorts. I really liked the way I planned things with him, because it all meshed nicely. Yeah.

This was also the month where I started doodling retarded things with my mouse. Most of these are inside jokes, and I know presea, fiendery and cybernetic will know about most of them [Sweeter too, right?], save for the second one. That was for kiwimangoodness. Though ah, God and Man, how I miss the crack. ♥ It will always be one of my favorite RPs where I met so many of you.

Here's Yuki again. ♥ Another one of my favorites, just because I was trying to make him look older than 12, and succeded with mild success.

March 2006

A somewhat first attempt at using no lineart for a drawing. I wanted to make it look sort of flat, but also have some depth to it. But I was happy with it, just because I was once again designing some outrageous clothing. That and, hey, it's a drawing of Yuki I can stand.

Fun story time! We had this dumb project to do at school where we take a hat and make a "work of art" out of it. And me, being who I am, decided I really wanted to do something awesome. I didn't know what, but I wanted a cool hat.

So I told mom about the project, and she told me she might be able to get something from Disneyland [she works in the costuming department] and bring it home for me. It made me excited, but I still didn't know what the hell to put on it. But then I got to thinking and researching, and I suddenly it hit me: Kingdom Hearts! Mind you, I wasn't into it at all and had no idea what the hell was going on half of the time when I heard people talk about it, but if it was made by Disney and Square-Enix, then I was game! I bragged about the project for so long, but I decided to wait 'till the last miunute. As always.

The night before it was due I sat down after I came home from school and just... did it. It took from 3pm to 1-2am to finish, but only because I was being hella picky. The blue was painted on, as well as the black [it had "Heartless" on it and such - no photo, though!], white, and dark blue. The waves around Destiny Island was a bitch, because the material of the hat just soaked up the paint. I had to do it three or four times. The inside of the hat's little curve thingies are all the worlds with their names. The bottom of the hat had the princesses, which I actually wanted to draw myself, but I didn't have the time.

Now the island was tricky. I would've taken more time on it, but it was around 12 when I was finishing it up and I was hella tired. But I took plastic, cut it, poured sand in the top of the pirate hat, then just glued it on. The palm trees came last, and then the scaling of the characters on the computer.

I got a good grade for it being done in one night. This project was supposed to be done over a time-span of two months. I win! ♥

April 2006

These oekaki-like ones are more God and Man jokes. Yes, Hisoka is probably touching Zack's ass. I don't know.

This was a gift for presea. Zack and Cloud, one of my ultimate OTPs of all time.

May 2006

Now here comes the fun part, at least for me. Here's me trying out the Disney style again. I was bored one day and decided hey, why not work on expressions and movement and such? So I did, but they all turned out like this. Borderline anime style as usual, but it's not the same as what I usually do.

I'm really happy with the Sora one just because I wasn't into Kingdom Hearts, but he sounded like a fun character, so it would be easy for me to practice with him. And Reno is, well. Reno. On the bottom is Reno and Yazoo, but that's from a fanfic that I wish was still going strong.

June 2006
Ah, the month where I go my tablet. I can't thank you enough, ahfuckingmazing! Yeah, she gave it to me and I was all gung-ho on trying it out. It took me forever to get used to it, but I had the basics down in a day or two.

This whole month was dedicated towards sketching, just to get the feel of it, and teach myself about pressure sensitivity. I tried coloring a little, and I was happy with it at the time. It's still not so bad, considering that I still don't color most of my art.

These are all from the new Cross University I joined. A sort of restart, I guess. I was Cloud, zax_dude was Zack. Fun times! We left the RP just so we can do our own thing, but these were some fun things we did in different logs, sans the last one.

July 2006

Around this time I think I started getting into polychromatic. This was one of my first gifts for para, who was Cloud over there, and I was Zack. shahnichan's Ranmaru made this for Cloud, because Zack requested that it be pink and pretty. I think they were going to some kind of festival.

August 2006
Hellooooooo Kingdom Hearts! This is the first time I stepped into said game, and I can't remember why. Probably because I was bored. And vincentsdream was all excited for getting me into FFVII and probably wanted to get me into something else game-related. But yeah, here's where my KH obsession starts, I think. That or it was mid-July and I drew nothing for it.

And so, the day came for me to try and join an RP as Roxas. Scared as hell, I did tons of research on him, watched clips, etc. etc. until I could actually get my hands on the game for myself. And, amazingly enough, I got the hang of it after drawing him. Lots. But the first time I RPed him? Not to my liking right now. But I improved, and I'm happy with the muse at this time.

... enough about RPs, let's give you some retarded doodles.

Honestly? This was one of the best months of my life. I started playing Roxas a lot, made tons of new friends, and just had a blast doing it. And I'm pretty sure all of these are in my journal somewhere, but hey, this is a progressive entry. I have to put them up anyway.

September 2006

Ah, my Demyx/Roxas phase. And also the time where I met two amazing people: hachifusa and gravirei ♥ But yes! September was FULL of art, because most of it was gift art and such, but it gave me lots of ideas. Very happy with almost all the stuff in September, because it brings back good memories and all that.

October 2006

For para. Still my Sora, and always will be. Chu to you~ Also, I have the lineart finished, but I don't have the will to color it at the moment. Any of you artists out there that want to give it a try? K cool, I'll give you the PSD, or something.

I still piss my pants laughing over this. I was on the phone with hachifusa while vintage_green was over, and we were goofing off about something, which turned into a conversation of pencil!Demyx and eraser!Roxas. And I was remembering those retarded erasers that were shaped as animals and stuff, and. Yeah. It was hilarious.

I don't expect anyone to really get this, and that's okay, because it doesn't need to be explained. ♥ So much love for the idea, though. I want to re-do this drawing when I have the time.

Another for para. We did a art trade for Halloween, and I was going to color it but I didn't get very far. ... And hey, she still hasn't given me hers yet! YOU THEIF. I WAS WONDERING WHY I COULDN'T FIND WHAT YOU DID. You suck and swallow, as usual.

November 2006

Okay, so we've all seen these, but I'm slapping them up anyway. And if you haven't been on my journal that long? Oh, well. Here you go, some art back in November. Stuff from recounted, invoke_parley, and other silly inside jokes.

December 2006

More stuff that's somewhere on my journal. That "Eternal Session" thing makes me happy, so I drew something silly to go with it. And to the right? I blame presea. Stupid YouTube videos.

I sketched/inked/Photowhored this and para colored it. Can you tell I like to shove boys in dresses? If you haven't noticed by now, then you're either a) blind or b) stupid.

January 2007

'SUP, 2007? This was for moving, but I'm not sure if anyone saw it. Probably not. And I don't think I've added anyone since then, so everyone has seen most of the junk I've done in January. ♥

WHEW. Okay, now that that's over with, let's go to some stuff I've done in the past few days.

Alright, a bit of a warning here that the one at the very bottom isn't work safe. I mean, you can look at it if you want to, but don't blame me if someone comes up to your desk and sees it. Not my problem.

This girl on Deviantart made Roxel [a fusion of Axel and Roxas], and I thought it was the COOLEST idea ever, so I wanted to try my hand at it. And I like this Roxel kid. ♥ He's fun to draw and color. So why not fuse more characters together? And behold! Sora and Riku become Soriku! Or something.

Haha yeah, I like them both. But Roxel was more fun to draw just for the fact that he has crazy ass hair, eyes and make-up. Soriku is plain, but I didn't expect anything else.

A conversation with angels_burn. She wanted to know more about what happened in Chain of Memories, mainly for Riku. So this is the best thing I could come up with at the time.

From the fanfic "When the Circus Came to Town". I don't like Kairi's face, so I'll change it later, but I was happy with her outfit. Somewhat. The top is fine, but the bottom I went all-out on. I might re-do that later as well.

Okay so. The next one isn't work-safe, plus it's Riku/Roxas. Don't like it, don't look.

duogami gave me the song "Pain" by Three Days Grace, and it automatically reminded me of Riku/Roxas, in that disturbing imagination of mine. So I gave it a shot, and I like it. So there you go.

A real update sometime soon. Promise. This just took me like, two days to complete. It taught me that I should organize my art better, that's for sure.
