My flatmate's boyfriend has just moved in to our flat and he has snakes. They're fed mice and flatmate's boyfriend buys them in frozen packs and keeps them in the freezer.
My problem is that I'm not okay with these dead frozen mice being kept in the freezer. He just moved in a few days ago and I didn't know he'd be keeping the mice in there and got the shock of my life when I saw them. We have a fridge that has a very small frozen compartment and they're taking up a lot of space and there's hardly any room if I wanted to buy some frozen food and store it. My boyfriend lives in the flat too and he is a vegetarian and doesn't know about the mice situation yet, but I can't imagine he'll be thrilled by it.
I brought this up with my flatmate and told her I'd be happier if she and her boyfriend looked into buying a freezer for their own use because I plain don't want dead frozen mice in the same place as my food - as I said before, it's a combined fridge & freezer. She has said she wanted to buy a bigger freezer before and now that there's 4 people sharing the same fridge, we will probably need it.
Question: Is this an unreasonable request? I don't see why my boyfriend and I should buy ourselves a separate freezer when we've been living there the longest (not our freezer: we rent a furnished flat) and we're not the ones storing the frozen mice. I know I probably sound silly ("frozen mice eww!") but I wasn't asked if I was okay with having them in there and a little annoyed.
