So today was a good day. Not only was uni kind of ok and my schedule is niiiiice (no classes on Mondays and after a certain while I won't have any on Fridays as well) but this beautiful thing arrived in my local store so I went as fast as I could to pick it up.
ASDFGHJKL; Honestly, I couldn't believe it when I was holding it in my hands. Always feels so weird when you get a new console. Not sure why. But it's so neeeew and shiny and beautiful and I was afraid to touch it lmao. But my first reaction when I saw the Uncharted game box... O_________O WHAT THE FUCK WHY IS THIS SO SMALL??!! Not sure if you guys can see how big a iPhone or normal smartphone is, but the box is just a tiny bit bigger. That's about it. LAWL nice job Sony. Well good for me, so I don't have trouble to find a place for them. The Vita itself is a bit bigger than the old PSP and honestly, I LOVE the design. The screen is a bit bigger as well (yeah obviously) and it's just so pretty to look at. Something else that I liked is how you can customize everything: background, colours, the little bubble icons, even the banner for your gamercard. Well, nearly like the PS3. To show you the functionalities, they let you play a few nice mini games. Some of them are fun while some are just... stupid but still. The best part: YOU CAN GET TROPHIES THERE TOO. lol I played these for about an hour just to get more trophies. Also great: you can use your normal psn account and you can actually see your trophies and those of your ps3 friends. You can also chat with them and stuff like that. GREEAAAAAT. Apparently, PS3 people can't see my Vita trophies BUT they are still added to my level. So idk. I know, I'm talking way too much about these, but COME ON, A GODDAMN PORTABLE CONSOLE WITH TROPHIES!! I shed a tear or two when I got my first one.
I made another shitty collage for you guys. I'm a hipster and I know it.
What I also like is that it can open multiple applications like games, the store, trophies and you can easily switch between them. That's when you see how powerful the console is. Where the 3DS has to close an actual app to launch another, well you can have more of them open here as said before. Then there is the store where you can get most of the games for a better price than in store actually. I still wonder if I should get Katamari there. If I don't find it tomorrow, I'll buy it then. Since I had the Pre-order box, I could pick a game and get a discount of 5€ on it. Since the only ones I was interested in were Escape Plan and Little Deviants, I went for the first one since it was the cheapest. Still sucks that you actually had to choose between 4 titles :|| WHY SONY, WHY?? Speaking of prices... I still find most of them EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. I paid 50€ for Uncharted, the price of a goddamn Xbox game for fuck's sake!! Ok it's new and great and blablabla but come on... There are still so many new games coming out the next few weeks and I can seriously not buy more than 3 Vita games... especially not at that price.
As for the other apps again, I have to say that the quality of the camera isn't great but it's not as if I would take 100000 pictures with it so it's ok. Apps I haven't used yet: Near, browser, music, videos and a few other ones I can't remember right now. And I have to admit, I haven't started Uncharted yet because I was too busy exploring the rest of the console. I will play it in bed later. Something I forgot to mention but is totally worth it: you can do screencaps with your Vita!! Only have to press the PS button + Start :D That's a really nice addition!! I'll try to cap the game and share it later if I remember it.
All in all, my first impressions are: ASFGHJKL; SO GREAT CANNOT PUT IT DOWN. It's glued to my hands. I already prefer it to the old PSP and I'm really looking forward to play my first game on it. But then again, my only negative point is the price: the console itself is already expensive enough but add to this the memory card (lol 40€ for 8GB SERIOUSLY?!) and one or maybe two games... ughhh. Also regarding the games, if I look at the launch titles, I see lots of games, which is a good thing, but directly not something I would immediately want. Except for Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 which I already have for the 360. But in Sony we trust (more than in Nintendo actually) and I hope they will bring us more awesome titles in the next few months!!
