In grad school, I used to drink Cherry Cokes all the time. I'd take a break from my project and walk over to the convenience store/burger joint/we don't card place and pick up a Cherry Coke. I loved them. They loved me. Times were good.
I arrived at school early this morning and decided that means I was especially good at getting up AND out of bed AND out of the house this morning, I could have a treat. I fished $0.60 out of my book sack and found the Coke machine. I was thrilled to see this particular machine offered Cherry Coke as one of its many selections. I put the two quarters and one dime into the machine, cracked open my Cherry Coke and sat in the hallway to drink it. Turns out, it just wasn't as I remembered it. I was disappointed to find out that maybe I don't like Cherry Coke anymore. I knew tastes changed, but I thought Cherry Coke would be with me forever. Oh well, water's cheaper!
In other super exciting news (I promise it will be more super and exciting than the Cherry Coke story), I'm going to Africa this summer. It's going to be great. I'm going to learn Swahili and see some wild zebras and giraffes and tigers and monkeys and gazelles and lions and bears and muskrats and turtles and guinea pigs and maybe even a skink or two. I hope I get to live in a hut made of elephant dung. I'll have to remember to bring some Febreze. I wonder if they have any dinosaurs that I can see in Africa. As I'm betting they do, I'll plan on seeing those as well.
The darkroom is calling. The smell of Fix shall be about me throughout the evening. I'm hoping it helps me to pick up guys...
