It gets pretty annoying, doesn't it? Watching all your efforts. You get ahead, and then you're pushed miles back. I don't want that. I'm not going to just wait for the next disaster, rebuild, and wait some more. I'm not going to settle for it, and neither should others. I'm not going to be a weak brat who only relies on other stronger people

[ He stood in the snow, his ragged hair blown around his face by the wind and his single wing stretched out and shedding a few feathers. He did not seem too concerned about anything but instead was looking up at the night sky, watching the stars and moons. ]

[ It was easy to spot Sephiroth under the light of the night sky. Kadaj stopped for a brief moment and even allowed himself to stare at his wing. He didn't have one. What did that mean? What he was going to do probably made no sense to anyone other than him, but it was something he had to do. He approached the rest of the way, saying nothing. ]

[ He turned his head a little, his wing folding up against his side as Kadaj moved closer. A flash of green from softly glowing eyes narrowed before he looked back at his study of the stars. ]

What is it you wish to see me about, Kadaj?

[ Kadaj stared at him calmly. He followed Sephiroth's gaze to the stars. Was Mother somewhere up there, traveling? ]

I was wondering. Will I disappear if we're near eachother?

[ He wondered if Jenova was up there, having found a way to leave this place. He also wondered if he could fly that high, if he actually accepted all his abilities without fearing his lost of self. ]

I find that hard to believe possible. You might be my echo, but you are not me.

[ Kadaj looked away from the heavens, tilting his head. ]

But what is me? What's me and what's you? Your chip is out and so is mine. That means what's yours should go back to you.

[ At that question, he turned and regarded his remnant with opaque eyes. And then he reached out, holding his hand inches from Kadaj's chest and waited. A few snowflakes stirred by the wind drifted between them and moved on and still nothing happened. ]

You have grown past that point.

[ For Kadaj, the moment was a surreal one. He wasn't sure what he thought would happen. It wasn't nothing. Yet when nothing did happen he couldn't help but to relax a little. ]

Into something separate?

[ Sephiroth dropped his arm and looked at Kadaj before a slight smile appeared. He bowed his head, turning slightly, the ragged ends of his hair hiding the slight twitch of his lips. They still shared the same cells - even he could feel to pull of the Jenova cells, but he would not unravel this piece of him just to see if he could. ]

Indeed. Someone separate.

[ Kadaj continued to stare, transfixed. With Jenova gone, Sephiroth was the connection, reminder of the cells that existed in him. He didn't want to forget. He wasn't sure if he ever could, if a...someone? had enough willpower, but he didn't want to find out. If he could retain a sense of self, and Mother, it would be perfect. Maybe it was possible. ]

[ He tilted his head down, then looked back up at Sephiroth to compare. ]
