Can I just say that Squeenix has blown the Sephiroth-Cloud dynamic to insane proportions I feel like tearing out my hair?

You know who says this shit? Psychotic stalkers who can't take a hint. Crazy people who kidnap their targets and stuff them in the basement while reading them poetry and cutting them up with a rusty carving knives. It's not normal to be this fixated on the person who brought down your ruin. And if my FFVII mythos is accurate, there's no great reason for Sephiroth to be this obsessed with Cloud. Hell, Strife is only a clone with Zack's borrowed memories most of the time; Sephiroth has no real emotional connection with him except the flimsy one that Cloud might manage to develop because he's osmosed Zack's memories (which have no logical basis since how the fuck do you transfer memories? Materia doesn't do that shit).
And you know what's even more insane?
Cloud doesn't explicitly reject any of Sephiroth's BATSHIT innuendos. He's all "I will find my own way blah blah blah blah" but never, not once, does he tell Sephiroth to shut it and go crawl into a hole. He defends his free will, his autonomy, his acceptance of his destiny, but never does he make it clear where he really stands vis-a-vis Sephiroth. You know what I call that? Being a fucking tease. Squeenix, I am pointing my fingers at you and naming this for what it is. You've made Cloud Strife a fucking cocktease.
UGH.
The FFVII shit aside, you know who surprised me the most? Ultimecia. Her voice actor is awesome as compared to the stuttering delivery of most of the male leads, and she's got that sultry bedroom voice going that sounds so menacing given the right circumstances. And you know what's even weirder? I like her here. Of course, I still think Seifer should have shown up (DAMN YOU SQUEENIX I AM NURSING THE MOTHER OF ALL CHARACTER HANGOVERS OVER HERE) but she's... alright. Like, I'd rather play her than Terra, or Firion (stupid ass one move HP attack that takes ages to strike and doesn't even home in on the target).
Oh oh! Another surprise. The character I find myself most compatible with regarding fighting style is... Tidus or Squall. Yeah, I take myself aback sometimes, too.
