Basically, this is a review of Pretty! Odd!
People have leaked the album out and being the shameless h0 that I am, I downloaded it. Now I seriously want to buy the album in New York and then see them in Jersey. Bamboozled here I come!
A few thoughts on the Sophomore Album That I Totally Did Not Expect. EVER:
1. Nine in the Afternoon
Into a place where thoughts can bloom
Into a room where it's nine in the afternoon
I watched the video and... *flails for words*. Because the Panic! kids are all grown up! Ryan Ross looks like Tom Sawyer, Brendon is being adorab0l and Spencer and Jon are spreadin' the love like candy on Christmas. How can you NOT like them? It's impossible I swear to God.
2. We're So Starving
We're so sorry we've been gone
We were busy writing songs for you
You don't have to worry we're still the same
Really. The cute just doesn't end. This is them reassuring us that they won't change, not in the ways that we love them.
3. The Green Gentleman
Things have changed for me
And that's okay
I feel the same
I'm on my way
It's just nice to hear Ryan Ross being happy, after the depressive dramathon that was A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. It's like he's finally broken out of his depression and is enjoying things, little by little.
4. I Have Friends in Holy Spaces
You remind me of a few of my famous friends
Well that all depends on what you qualify as friends
This sounds like something from an old movie. There's just Brendon's voice and a saxophone(?) and maybe some static but it doesn't matter because it's so weird its fun to listen to. You can just imagine them tinkering around and trying new stuff and generally making a big mess out of things in the background. HEE!
5. Northern Downpour

OH. MY. GOD. I keep saying that I totally like the happier feel of P.O. but this song, this song which isn't exactly happy but not sad either... IT BLEW ME AWAY. I want to cry again even though I don't think I'll ever understand the poetic meanderings of the lyrics, and you know how Brendon's voice just shines amidst the slow melody? UUUUUUUUUGH I AM GOING TEARY EYED OVER HERE REALLY.
6. When The Day Met the Night
So he said, "Would it be alright,

*tries not to sob in front of the monitor*
Unfair! This shouldn't be the song after Northern Downpour. It's like being punched in the heart. This isn't even a SAD SONG and already I'm having a hard time trying to control myself.
Oh fuck. I need to finish my stuff NOW but... BUT!
This is so going to be on eternal repeat on my player.
