I am floored by this feeling of extreme and overwhelming gratefulness that I am at this particular point in my life where everything makes sense.
I understand, with a clarity that can slice bread, that the gamble I had made DID in fact pay off and that things could be so much worse.
So to whomever or whatever has made all this possible:
Thank you from the core of my soul. This is an undeserved stroke of good fortune. I will not forget.

The philosopher
Simone de Beauvoir said: “One is not born a woman, one becomes one.”
[2] In Gender Studies the term "gender" is used to refer to the
social and cultural constructions of masculinities and femininities. It does not refer to biological difference, but rather cultural difference.
[3] The field emerged from a number of different areas: the sociology of the
1950s and later (see
Sociology of gender); the theories of the psychoanalyst
Jaques Lacan; and the work of feminists such as
Judith Butler. Each field came to regard "gender" as a practice, sometimes referred to as something that is
performative.
[4] In the car I was trying to explain to my aunts, mother and grandmother why I was so frustrated with the lack of a Gender Studies course within the Ateneo because THIS IS AN IMPORTANT SOCIAL ISSUE THAT WILL NOT RESOLVE ITSELF WITHOUT PROPER KNOWLEDGE ON THE SUBJECT MATTER.
And one of my aunts go:
"But isn't this something that everybody knows already?" And I went "NO HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT WHY ARE YOU SAYING THAT I CAN'T WRAP MY MIND AROUND HOW YOU CAN POSSIBLY SAY THAT NO NO NO NO QUACK QUACK NO WAY IN HELL."
Because Gender Studies is like Philosophy. It is inevitable that you will think about this in the future, but you will need a person who is actually knowledgeable on the subject to guide you. Sure, you might figure this out on your own but it's such a wide-ranging and detail-filled subject that you will have a hard time processing your thoughts in a manner which will actually be beneficial for your growth as a person.
