Charles blinked and then looked around, utterly stunned. It was the night before the mission, before everything had gone horribly wrong and for a moment he could not believe it was real.

"Charles?" Erik sounded just a little bit worried.
Over the months he'd done a lot of thinking and he was sure about one thing.
"I will help you."
Erik looked astonished.
"This one time I will help you kill a man," he reiterated, "and then we find another way."
"Why?"
"Because I love you."
