Here's a comprehensive post of the workarounds for LJ's new comment pages. Feel free to share this, comment on what you've found that can help, etc etc. I'll keep this post open and I'll also update it when new things are brought out!

As of December 21st, there is a temporary work around around the comment page style. The person is still ( Read more... )

I have come via a long line of links all to do with LJ's new style comments page, so please forgive me for butting in.

I do have a minimalism layout, but cannot change the it to include subject lines and drop down menues. Looks like that can only be done with plus or paid accounts, while mine is still a basic.

Would you have a suggestion?

Thank you.

I totally don't mind people butting in.

As far as your question is concerned, I'm not entirely sure what to do. I know it works for plus and paid accounts, however... Did you try to copy the custom CSS in the link provided for it to work?

Thank you for replying. As I said, I have heard that these things work with plus or paid accounts.

I have not so far tried CSS, because I am a total looby and ejit when it comes to these things as I am afraid my journal will then crash around my ears.
*sighs*

It probably won't, but the box that is seen here is where you would input the CSS that stoppedhiding built. If you need any further assistance, though, I can refer this thread to my friend if you'd like. :D

Would you do that? I am so very afraid of touching anything about which I have no clue. I would need a subject header for dummies, and I mean, DUMMIES!

Sure! :D My friend has commented to assist you with this. I know that switching from a basic account to a plus account isn't ideal, but hopefully you'll have the option of reverting that change when LJ gets its' act together.

Custom comment pages aren't available for basic accounts, only plus and paid. So if you have a basic account, there's nothing you can do.

The only thing I can suggest is to upgrade to plus and install an adblocker.
