Oh, after a long period of vacillation on the matter, and consulting Merriam Webster online, I've decided to consistently scan 'really' as trisyllabic in my own writing, although even I tend to say 'real-ly' instead of 're-al-ly' most of the time.

Yup. I don't know the technical explanation for it, but I think it's something to do with the schwa. Or something. Oh well...
