She knelt on the worn stone of the tower roof, reaching her hand far underneath the chair. A barely audible growl left her lips as her fingers curled around yet another spy communication crystal. Rising to her feet , she walked to the edge of the roof and angrily threw the green crystal as far as she could into the sea below.

Clouds moved across the sky to block out the sunlight. As her green eyes searched the rest of the tower roof, her thoughts drifted back to her childhood, after her mother's brutal death and her move to Cove to seek refuge within the ranks of her father's order, and to one of the town children she used to play games of both war and innocence with. For a moment she was washed over by old love and friendship...now long dead. Whilst her path in life wound the road of destruction, murder, and betrayal, his clung to the mountains of hope, honor, and virtue.

She quickly took inventory of her pack, ritualistically checking buckles on her armor, and applying a deadly dose of poison to her blade. As she lifter her body onto her steed, a raindrop fell on the lower curve of her back and dripped down the emerald ink stains of years old artwork depicting a scaled serpent that slithered on the skin behind her hips.

Red hair curled in snakelike tendrils over her shoulder as she left the tower on her search for the death one one man. Mouthing one quiet word, she disappeared into the forest.

"Adunaphel..."
