Project stalled, for want of a Windows computer to update the firmware on these things and fix a stupid config bug. Digi only has a software XBee interface under Windows. Feeling a distinct sense of cosmic mockery, after so much effort to attain functional equivalence on other platforms. teferi has volunteered his desktop; in the meantime I do not think I know a single person in New York who owns a PC laptop.
I even tried installing the XBee interface software on my XP VM on my work Mac, but, predictably, the VM doesn't see the USB ports as normal COM ports. 1983 called, just to say "Haha, sucker."
I have a headache and my arms hurt. My forebrain is going "Perhaps you should put this down and work on restringing pearls or felting wool" because it has not ever heard of going to sleep or reading a nice book or something.
ETA: installing drivers fixed it in the VM. Except then I spent the whole evening on a totally different project. Will die of project queue, if the dayjob doesn't get me first.
