*sigh*

Have ascertained that my neighbor is delusional. Called landlord. 311 is next.

Oh, dear. Good luck? I'm assuming from the phone calls being made that it's an obnoxious form of delusional as opposed to the harmless or entertaining ones?

Yeah. Banging obsessively on my floor, and then claiming I've been making too much noise since three hours before I woke up, is well into "obnoxious."

Perhaps the delusion is that they think they're living under my apartment? Seeing as I have the beasties that do, occasionally both get the crazies and go tearing around the apartment at the wee hours..

I dunno... I have carpet down and he's never "said anything" (via banging) when it's laser pointer time for the kitties. That's about as insane as they can get.

Your downstairs neighbor should move somewhere with nice padded walls, because clearly nothing less will satisfy his need for quiet. I mean, why in Christ's name is he living in a noisy urban center if he's that sensitive? Jeeeeez.

Thank you! Validation! *wallows in validation* I've been wondering where he's getting this, since it's demonstrably not from me.

You have carpets and it is generally very quiet, and he has never pounded on the floor when _I've_ been there, so unless you have a secret electric guitar shredding habit, I really REALLY don't think it's you.

Wow, I had a neighbor like that too in my former building. I dealt with it by moving out.
