In case anyone in Seattle is at risk of joining a gym, specifically Explore Fitness on 2nd, don't. They are lying jerkwads about their end-of-contract terms. Will be calling the general manager tomorrow to explain that the nice man on the phone just flat-out lied to me and ought to have hs attitude adjusted.
Really kind of down on the whole "gym" concept since the cheapest venue I have found in this town is $650 a year, at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. YMCAs are seemingly from another planet; I'm used to the Y being the cheap, vaguely scuzzy option against the for-profit places, but the 92nd Street Y is SERIOUS BUSINESS. I really can't decide if it's worth that much to have ready access to a pool.
