'indian summer' sounds so idyllic...

I wonder how many years I'll live here before I remember that biking in jeans in the summer is seriously ill-advised. Sad that the garment I thought of as consummately utilitarian is actually not the right thing at all.

Also, I've shelved plans for the web interface to my air conditioner, on grounds that in practical terms you really only need two states: "on all the time so you can stand being at home" and "winter".

Today I took about 15 pictures of a single Brancusi sculpture that I've been obsessed with for about the same length of time as Ciudad sin sueño, Leaves of Grass and Matisse's Icare. Got told off by Met security, politely, but it was worth it to see that version. Afterwards I sat for an hour on the museum's stone steps, took my shoes off and talked about everything and everything with dymaxion, straining to pull her voice closer to here.
