Accidental flavor pairing: chain grease and chocolate. It's actually kind of an interesting flavor until I remember that my chain is also covered in road spray from 10th Avenue, and well okay fine maybe I didn't get all the grease marks. What doesn't kill you adds flavor.

- Secured a lease on my new apartment
- Set off for a lesbian bar with no date, and acquired a date before even getting on the train. Thanks, MTA!
- Gone to Long Island and back, and still made it to work on time
- Gone to the Strand for the first time, and found an absolutely excellent book on ecologically sound design practice in the "to be shelved" stacks, new, for half off list price. It's heaven the Powell's of the East. Also picked up my own copy of 101 Things.
- Drafted an express bus to get uptown. Thought about taking a turn through the park, but...
- ... got distracted by delicious lamb shawarma, and the nearest coffeeshop, which are almost next door to each other on 9th. Still stunning how different Hell's Kitchen is from the dead little part of Midtown I inhabit, and how much safer emotionally, if not physically.
