I need to borrow some brains.
I need to make a bracket to affix a rectangular part (a DRO sensor) to an angled surface (the chunk of chassis supporting a mill table. Yes, that mill.) I considered bolting the sensor to the flattest part of the mill's front, but that area is the box around the X-axis power feed, and it seems like only horrible things could result from drilling into that with no idea of the arrangement inside.
I made a wooden jig last night that told me the angle - it's somewhere between 90 and 110 degrees, need to look at it with a protractor - but I'm not sure how to miter a certain known angle into a piece of aluminum.
There's a lot of shiny hardware available to solve this problem. I may have access to the right thing, but I don't know what the right thing is. Help?
