I just did it, after thinking about it for... five years? Ordered one of these:
neuro42 alleges that the regulators that came with my AW-1 will be fine, and I already have an enormous oxygen tank, so the propane tank should be the last step. I hope that this is what I want. The AW-1 is huge and hard to work with, but I'm keeping it in case I ever do get into casting.
I'm sure I don't really have the money to assemble a hot shop and continue with lifehack... but... O fire. I have a box full of solder, another box full of things needing soldering, and a brain that seems permanently stuck on that critical moment.
