And what the hell is wrong with SubEthaEdit these days?

In case it makes a difference, I'm running OSX 10.3.9 on Phthalo (laptop) and 10.4.2 on Indigo. I was using SubEtha 1 on Phthalo and 'upgraded' to version 2 on Indigo last night. I use a USB thumb drive to work on files between those two machines. Lately, if I try to save something from the thumb drive in SubEtha - save it ANYWHERE, onto the thumb drive or otherwise - it hangs. Not only does it hang, but it runs a good chance of crashing the Finder as well. And if you Force Quit SubEtha in this state, it falls into some sort of netherworld where it doesn't seem to actually exist - it doesn't appear in any list of running processes, and it won't respond to any kill attempt - but it persists in its open, hung state in the GUI, and attempting to open it from the Finder gets you a message that it's still running. Assuming, of course, that Finder didn't go down with it. It seems unclosable by any method short of rebooting. Teh fuck.

Jilted SubEthaEdit lover ISO lightweight Mac text editor for LTR/possible three-way fun with . Must be stable, no baggage, play well with other installed applications and mounted drives. Syntax highlighting a plus. TextEdit need not apply.

Have done the usual trash-prefs, repair-disk-permissions, and-you-shake-it-all-about Mac Pokey. Also repaired the volume on the thumb drive. We'll see what, if anything, helps.
