I am about..75% of the way done with Gil. He's been going by relatively fast save for the mishaps with hats and bias tape/blanket binding I've been having. His jacket is in three black heaps in my living room and should be finished tomorrow. Mom is, hopefully, bringing my pseudo wig tomorrow so I can brush it out and restyle it a bit. But, here are the completed pants, shirt, tie, and hat.
The standard black pants.
I have, at this point, made at least three pairs of black pants, three pairs of white, one pair of red, and navy blue shorts. Pants are a piece of cake for me. And if you're wondering why I don't just reuse my other black pants, a) one has ribbons sewn onto it for Ikuto, and b) the other is too tapered for me to wear with Gil.
The shirt
I actually really like my shirt. It's a nice soft material and I managed to find a pattern I only have to marginally modify. My only beef with it - other than my machine getting yellow oil stains on it - is that I didn't get quite enough fabric so the facing from the front is a slightly different fabric. You can't really tell though. There are large snaps on each of the four gold triangles to hold it closed.
The shirt with the tie.
Standard jabot pattern, nothing fancy there. It isn't quite accurate, but Gil has a funky tie/scarf/thing.
And the hat. The horror that is the ugly hat. And since my wig isn't here (the real or fake one), it sits on my Ikuto wig.
This hat gave me more issues than Ciel's hat even though I patterned it the same way. The brim doesn't sit flat. Neither does Ciel's but with all the rosettes you can't really tell. But Gil's hat is funky anyway; sometimes it's a standard circle brim, sometimes it's pointed. Sometimes it flips one way and other times it flips in the other direction. So whatever. I may go on eBay and find a better hat but...eh.
What is left to be done on the jacket is attaching lining to jacket, making and adding the lapels, add the cuffs and bias tape, and attaching the belts. It should go by fairly quick...I hope.
