Upcoming Game-wide Plot in January

Dec 17, 2011 07:38

On the weekend of January 7th, the fire Animus will be called into the city. This is different than Thalatte's casual visit- this one is an event, and this one is destructive.

In conjunction with this, the Puella Magi cast (Mami, Kyoko, and Yuma) will have their soul gems' cleansing reversed. What this means for the city is the sudden appearance of three(3!) incredibly powerful, reality-warping, despair-causing witches, fed by the girls' souls' taint, and the Animus' corruption (For those familiar with the canon, each would be on the level, or above, of Walpurgisnacht. For a video example [spoilers for late Madoka]: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S75J91jx8BA ).

At the same time, the city is burning, falling apart- and this isn't the sort of fire that is easily defended against. As its purpose is world ending, the land itself is torn apart, and it's not damage that will be quickly recovered from.

Not all of them, however, are entirely in favor of destroying Adstring; the dragonfly-cat Teleos will be busy keeping people (technically) alive, and the world populated. The many-fish Thalatte will also do what they can, but their actions are limited, when they're up against some of their own. Without the mishmash of characters trapped in the city, it'd be a futile process. You are the heroes. The newly-birthed witches are somehow connected to the fire's revival. Remove them, and perhaps the event will end?

Unlike other events, the city might not last if you try to wait this one out....

For the duration of the event:
-- Instead of the usual death process (returned in a few days, in survivable condition, with a price), revival will be immediate due to Teleos' interference. It will be without a price, and with the victim only a few seconds healthier than they were before. Which leads to dying again- and again and again, without respite. Essentially, endless, miserable pain, with the added chaos of the witches' influence creeping in.1
-- There will be groups needed to defeat/heal the witches, as the fire isn't something to be taken on directly. Others will be needed to keep them from falling into confusion and despair, as well as to take care of the wounded (to keep them from a cycle of dying every few minutes). It's not something only the 'powerful' can take part in! Everyone is susceptible to the witches' misery, and this is the 'conflagration that expires the mandate of the world.' A steady mind and the ability to coordinate are as important as any unnatural ability.

Please use this post for any questions regarding the event, as well as plotting and the like! ♥

1If a few are really keen on dying 'normally', it's still allowed, with the usual conditions. Repeated, priceless-death will not require mod permission.
