Characters: Johann Faust VIIIVerweile_Doch, Kuroganepuppyswordsman
When: After their conversation in Kurogane's journal here.
Where: Faust's Clinic.
Rating: T, simply for talking about not having an arm.
Summary: Kurogane, being the awesome badass he is, admits he needs a new arm, and being humble enough to know he needs to get approval from one of the doctors that might very well be the one making it so he can have a new arm, he sets out to be examined.

Faust sat at his lone table outside, enjoying the momentarily sunlight as it washed over him through the small cracks in the clouds.

It was still early yet, and already the day was proving interesting, he was being asked to look at a man for a prosthetic. Of course, Faust would need to confirm that it has healed and not picked up an infection. Not knowing a thing about the man meant not knowing where he traveled or anything remotely similar.

He glanced at the dufflebag on the table. It's secret hidden from the masses for now. Perhaps he could teach Kurogane necromancy so he could oversoul an arm? "No...Perhaps just an examination would be best for now." He continued musing, tilting his head back languidly.

Kurogane walked out of the building. He brought his hand up to the should where the prosthetic met the skin. He held Ginryu in one hand as he walked through the area. It had been nice to see Fai again, but he was worried about the magician.

With a sigh, he shook his head. He would worry about it later. He needed to focus on getting a new prothsetic arm, so Fai wouldn't worry.

"Do you think it was a good thing I've learned how to do this? I'm still helping lives." He looked at the dufflebag, asking a question he knew would not be answered.

The doctor sighed. Coming here changed quite a bit on his outlook, but his days were still lonely, and despite the community here, nothing served to dispell that awful feeling yet. People here who cared about him. Zedd had reacted in a decidedly negative manner upon Faust revealing his secret. He suspected one other, but couldn't confirm it. "How long should I wait until you decide to join me here in person, my love?" Again, his question went unanswered.

"Are you the doctor?" The black haired man asked gruffly as he came upon the clinic. His red eyes looked up and down the clinic. He nodded a bit, eyes narrowed.

He crossed his arms over his chest, still clutching Ginryu. He hated not having his sword near him.

The doctor smiled. "I am. Dr. Johann Faust VIII, at your service." He then motioned for the swordsman to have a seat at the table. "I need you to remove the prosthetic, and I'll be right back."

Standing, Faust disappeared inside briefly and returned with a smaller bag, placing it on the table next to the duffle bag.

He set Ginryu down and then removed his cloak. The ninja carefully removed both wrist bracers, setting them down on the table. He looked about the area, quickly taking in routes he could use incase he needed to flee.

Reaching up, he carefully removed his prosthetic arm, wincing as it pinched the skin. A bit of blood trailed down his side. He would have to make sure Fai fed again soon. He didn't want the magician getting weak and after two weeks of not feeding... He grumbled a bit. He still needed to yell at Fai.... More... About that later.

Faust frowned immediately at this. Opening the bag he removed a cotten ball and antiseptic. "This will most likely sting..." He quickly wiped down the blood, cleaning the skin. "I really should ask you don't wear this again, but I doubt that will happen." He looked over the shoulder carefully, taking in the details. "It has healed well considering, but does it do this often?"

"Not as often as it used to." Kurogane replied flatly, "It does it when I remove it or put it on or use the arm to fight." He looked at Faust, "I'm Kurogane."

"It's nice to meet you, Kurogane." Faust mulled this over though. If Kurogane was a swordsman, that mean his arm was bothering him...all the time basically.

"I hereby approve you for surgery as soon as you can get everything together for it." Though, there was that other option... "How would you feel for a different sort of arm though?"

"As long as my arm can function like a real one, I am not picky about what it is." He replied gruffly. He sat there, glaring at Faust. Not because he was mad at him... Glaring was just second nature to him. "That's good that I'm approved for surgery."

"Yes it is. You are quite lucky to be in such fine health!" He was very happy seeing so many healthy people here, it only meant most of his work was involved with accidents.

The doctor just didn't seem to notice or care about the glaring, that was just second nature to him. "This other kind of arm takes a lot of training and focus to use, but it should be far less painful. It involves a high degree of magic and spiritual awareness though."

He looked at Faust, a suspicious look on his face. "Hn." was his only response to what was said about his health.

"Look. I need to function and be available to me without much work. I have someone I must protect, someone who I.... Someone I need to make sure stays safe. He's a bit of an idiot sometimes."

Faust nodded, his face twinged with a sad tone now. "I know. When it's someone else, we'll do almost anything for them..."

Passing that thought over quickly, he smiled again. "I'm glad you have such a close friend. Wear this if you can." Reaching into the bag, Faust produced what essentially was a shoulder brace. "Sometimes prosthetics bother their wearers and they usually wear padding to ease the effect."

He took the brace from Faust and looked it over. "So I can still wear the prosthetic then?"

Faust nodded. "Yes, it's just padding so hopefully you won't bleed anymore, or as much at the very least. It's not a permanent solution, but it will help." Faust wasn't looking forward to the surgery. He'd have to have whoever was supervising Kurogane on the cybernetics attending and even assisting. Painful would probably not even begin to describe, but it was for someone special.

Faust could do nothing but admire that with a smile. "Well, if you don't want me to look at anything or you have other business, I won't keep you from it."

"Thank you Doctor." He said as he put on the shoulder brace. Kurogane then picked up the prosthetic arm and carefully put it on, indicating he had done this quite a few times before.

"Either way... I am looking foward to replacing this arm." He didn't care about the pain.

Faust nodded. "Of course." It was interesting. It always was how people got on when they lost something like they had never had it in the first place. "We can talk about that more when you find someone who can actually help you with it and find the materials. For now I'd just relax and keep an eye on your friend."

Kurogane put on his bracers and pulled the cloak back around his shoulders. "I think I might have found someone. I'm not sure. He offered to regrow my arm, but...." He shook his head, "I need to talk to Fai before I make any decisions."

"I do think that would be best." The doctor closed up his bag with a small. "If you need more padding or anything for your or your friends, don't hesitate to call."

"I will not." He rose to his feet and moved the prosthetic a bit. It didn't hurt as much, but it still hurt a bit. Nodding to Faust, he grabbed Ginryu and then headed back to the building.

With a wave, Faust gathered both bags and went back into the clinic, he was from a land where it most didn't exactly lie out tanning all the time and he wasn't interested in burning. What a productive day.
