[LOG] Meeting Milo

When: After Trowa brings Milo home
Where: Their apartment

Summary: Trowa introduces Duo and Heero to their new transient roommate.
Trowa stood in the kitchen of the apartment. For the moment Milo was behind the counter working on some meat that Trowa had given him. Trowa watched him for a moment, thinking about the fact that he needed to tell other three pilots about the wolf. The wolf had somehow avoided them the night before when he had first arrived.
Heero could hear someone moving around the apartment from his room. He came out into the main room, glancing around. "Anyone here?" he asked.
Trowa looked up. "Hey Heero." He glanced down at the wolf, who was preoccupied for the moment and came out of the kitchen. "Heero," he said. "We have someone else staying with us now."
Duo jogged his way up the stairs from the workshop, looking over one of the power tools he and Trowa had refurbished. Apparently, they missed something. Frustrated because it wasn't working, he brought it back up to the apartment to ask the taller pilot what he thought. "Hey, Heero," he said somewhat absently as he headed into the kitchen, looking a the tool in his hands.
"Someone else?" Heero asked, giving Duo an acknowledging nod. "That's fine. Who is it?"
"What?" Duo looked at them. "Someone else what?"
Trowa nodded. "Quatre and I invited someone else to stay here. Just a warning...he's appearance might be a little...not what you are expecting, but he is nice. Milo, can you come out here a moment?"
Milo looked up. He wagged his tail and trotted out of the kitchen and into the main room. Seeing two more people out there, he wagged his tail even more. ~Hello~ he said telepathic to three present.
Heero wasn't alarmed by a mere wolf, but the voice in his head was slightly more unnerving. He took a step back and looked questioningly at Trowa.
Duo blinked, rubbing his head. "What the-...?" He didn't like that... not at all.
"Heero, Duo, this is Milo. He is a telepathic wolf. That is how he communicates with people."
"Telepathic?" Heero asked, narrowing his eyes a bit at both Trowa and the wolf, though it was hard to deny what he had just experienced.
Milo bobbed his head in something of a nod. ~Yep. The animals on my world can speak telepathically~
"That's... weird," Duo said, looking confused. "It feels kinda funny..." He shook his head, as if trying to clear a fog from his mind.
Heero could agree with that. "How...strange," he murmured.
Trowa nodded. "It is a bit."
~I'm sorry~ Milo said. ~I can't communicate with humans any other way~
Heero nodded wordlessly and glanced between the other two pilots.
Duo just shrugged. "Not something I'm used to," he said. "The voices in my head are usually mine." He smirked jokingly, winking at the two of them.
Trowa nodded. "It's alright, Milo. We're just not used to it."
Milo bobbed his head again, wagging his tail.
"Yeah," Heero agreed. Milo was a beautiful animal, really. "There's a lot of things around here we're not used to." That was a bit of an understatement, really.
Just then, there was a soft thump from Duo's room. Shin trotted out to find out what the noise was about. The black lab pup froze at seeing Milo.
Milo spotted the pup and wagged his tail. ~Hello~ he said, only using his telepathic speech so the humans could understand him. He was immediately putting on an air of being unthreatening so the pup wouldn't be scared.
Heero stepped back some and looked between the two animals, just watching.
Of course, being the smaller canine, Shin lowered his head and tail, walking over slowly. He didn't understand that much in the way of human speak other than what Duo had trained him with.
Duo watched closely, not sure what to make of it.
Trowa also watched as well.
Milo wagged his tail and put his paw forward towards the pup. He was trying to be careful not to scare the pup. He knew something from playing with pups back in the village.
Shin sniffed at Milo, curious. His tail, still low, started to wag slightly.
Duo glanced at Trowa.
Heero crossed his arms.
Milo crouched, his body language inviting Shin to play. His tail was still wagging.
Trowa glanced over at Duo when he glanced over. From what he had seen of Milo playing with Aftab, he probably wouldn't hurt the pup.
Shin pawed at Milo.
Milo waved his paw in Shin's direction.
Duo leaned back against the couch, putting the errant tool aside for a moment. "So... how long's he gonna be here?" he asked.
"Off and on if I understood correctly," Trowa remarked. "Maybe a week at time from what it sounded like last night."
Heero looked at the animals, then Trowa, then Duo. "Could have been a lion," he said with a shrug.
Duo snorted in amusement. "I guess," he said with a smile. "You had a thing for those back home in the circus."
Shin yipped playfully, coming out of his shell at the encouragement, and jumped at Milo.
Trowa nodded. "I did. I just get along with animals really well."
Milo playfully bat at Shin, bouncing slightly mainly from excitement. Milo was still very much a pup himself.
It was sort of nice to watch the two of them play. Relaxing, almost. Heero watched them with a half-smile.
Duo smirked at the expression on Heero's face. "Having animas around ain't bad, huh?"
