Summary: After seeing the event in his dreams, now at the safehouse, Watanuki will do whatever he can to help those in need! So,

The doors to the safe house were thrown open quickly. The Colonel was holding the door open and a handful of people were filtering in quickly.

"Quickly, quickly now, but please remain calm" he said as he waved people in using a sure and clear voice. "All right, is that everyone?" His red eyes glanced over the people, mentally counting.

With that, he closed the doors tightly.

"If you're injured, report to the medics. Otherwise, get some rest" he said to the bunch that scattered off after he dismissed them.

The fonist let out a hefty, tired sigh. He had really been abusing the fourth fonon: Undine.

His hair was tied back into a bun to prevent his long hair from getting singed or caught on fire and his uniform was pretty sooty.

He let out a cough from all of the smoke inhalation since he had to chant spells to cast the water fonic artes. He was starting to get rather tired.

And suddenly there was a huge flood of people. Watanuki looked back quickly, and his eyes widened and he held up his hands to halt them all, shaking his head.

"Whoa, whoa! Hold up everyone, hold up! Its okay, just stay calm!" Watanuki looked over how many heads had come in, before nodding his head. "Okay, there's plenty of room for everyone. If you're tired and need sleep first, head off to the left. If you're hungry, or need something to drink before sitting down, tell me your name, and if you want soup or a sandwich, water, tea, or coffee! One food option, one drink for now!

"SINGLE FILE!"

That voice was familiar. He looked over and saw the lanky, black-haired boy.

"My my, undermining my own commands. Perhaps you should be the colonel and I'll just be a simple soldier" he teased, crossing his arms across his chest. He coughed a bit again, his lungs rejecting the smoke that had accumulated in them.

When Watanuki had finished taking everyone's order, the boy looked up at the familiar voice. Two-toned eyes stared at Jade blankly for a moment, as if he didn't recognize him, but really he was just in shock.

"...Jade-san!" Watanuki let out, walking over to him. His hand immediately snatched up a towel as he went by, handing it over to Jade. "...A-are you... I mean... you look..."

The boy shook his head. "...You need to have a seat! here, take this towel--there's a basin over there--" A point to the right; one by the chair. "--Clean yourself up! I'm going to take these people something to eat. Do you want anything?"

Jade accepted the towel and started wiping the sweat and dirt off of his pale face with it.

"I'm fine, Watanuki." he said going over to the basin and rinsing off the towel to clean himself up further. The cool water felt really good against his heated skin.

"No no, I've got to get back out there and help put out some of the larger fires or at least prevent them" he said. The Colonel let out another cough. It wasn't the best idea, but he was a soldier and his health and safety came last, unfortunately.

"A-already?" Watanuki let out, turning back to him as he was heading off to grab the food for the civilians. "...You just got here! At least sit down for a moment! If you breathe in too much of that crap out there you'll get sick!"

And he hurried off.

Jade watched as the other hurried off to get food for the civilians. Well, he was right about that, but that didn't excuse him from his duties even if this wasn't his country or jurisdiction. People were people and lives were lives.

He went over and picked up some trays to take them to the refugees.

While Watanuki never minded extra help, it was hard to truly appreciate it when the person helping needed to be help themselves. It was as soon as Jade handed off his last tray to one of the civilians that the boy found himself cornering the colonel, his eyes narrowed towards him.

"Okay, times up. You need to sit and take a breather. And probably drink some water, if anything." Watanuki pointed towards a chair. "Have a seat."

"Well now, aren't we the fussy one?" Jade said. But this time, he decided to take a seat. His body was betraying him and overrode his mind to take the chair. "But I've said that once before, haven't I?"

Watanuki shot him a look between annoyance and pity. it was hard to discern which it was, though it was truly a mixture of both. Reasons for why were his own.

"Are you injured anywhere, Jade-san? When did you last eat? Are you hungry?"

Jade shook his head and waved a gloved hand at the idea of eating.

"My adrenaline is far too high to be hungry." he said. Food would be better when he's more wound down, but until the situation has diffused, he couldn't rest properly.

"I'm not injured as far as I can tell, just a bit worn out, but it's fine."

Watanuki "You at least need a drink. Would you like coffee, tea, or water?"

"Water, please" Jade replied.

"All right." Watanuki nodded before heading off to grab jade a drink. The boy returned quickly with a glass of water.

"Here." The boy handed it over to him on a plate... with rabbit apples on it, as well. Just a few slices.

Jade took the plate with the water balanced on top and took a long drink of it, but not too quickly as to get a cramp or stomach ache. It was nice and refreshing. He looked down at the little apples in the shapes of rabbits. It was cute, but unnecessary in his eyes. He could at least appreciate the sentiment, though. Something cute and whimsical at a time like this was good for giving a little light in this dark situation.

The Colonel took a bite of the apple. He wasn't hungry, but this would at least give him some energy to keep going.

"You certainly know how to take care of your chicks, don't you, Watanuki?" he commented in between bites.

"Huh?" Watanuki asked, tilting his head as he watched Jade take bites from the apple slices. "...Chicks?"
