It was the latest on Botan's lists of stops. Whenever there was enough of a break in searching for people that needed escorting or healing, the spirit guide would go to the safehouses she could reach. Just to make sure it and the people inside were in one piece, to check on supplies and offer healing as well if there were people in dangerous enough states. Which would explain why the clothes she was wearing (mostly things found at the abandoned mall,) were singed at the very least where it wasn't soaking. Botan did her best to consolidate her energy and fly without getting hit by the first, but it's tricky when it comes from the sky as well.

Still, she was catching her breath a little when getting into the latest of safehouses. As the oar in her hand disappeared she called out a little, "does anyone need immediate medical care, or are any supplies running low?"

That voice sounded familiar...

The dark-haired boy looked up from where he had just finished clearing up space for another casualty. When one fighter came in, as soon as they were recharged and heading out the door, Watanuki found himself cleaning up the area neatly after.

Upon seeing the blue-haired girl, Watanuki's two-toned eyes immediately lit up in surprise.

"Botan-san!"

Upon seeing the dark-haired teen, Botan's expression brightened to a smile. "Watanuki! It's good to know that you've kept safe."

She meant it, too. While not knowing the boy very well, she thought there was a friendship growing. Him being in a safehouse, managing it even, was better than a lot of the others the ferrygirl had known. Though it was strange, it almost seemed like that relief had a bit of attachment. The kind that she had more for the people Botan knew here the longest, or even friends back from her world, but... different. If it weren't so far back in her mind, perhaps she would have thought on it more. Instead she walked further into the safehouse and took a look around as well.

"It looks like you've been managing this location well."

Wow, she was even cuter in person! Though, there was no one that could compare to the goddess that was Himawari-chan! Ah... this wasn't the time to think about that! Watanuki brightened when Botan called his name, and the young boy made his way over, he had sworn he had seen something in her hand...

Nah, probably his imagination.

"Managing? Me?" Watanuki lifted his hand and rubbed the back of his head, a sheepish smile going across his face. "I-I doubt its all that. Its just that so many people are coming in and out, or staying and...

"Well, its just better if we all do our part." His school uniform was singed in places, but for the most part he looked unharmed. He felt a little guilty, as if this was all his fault, but... he couldn't think like that. It had to be all the bad vibes in the air.

"Are you travelling through the safehouses?"

Ah, Watanuki really was the humble type, wasn't he? It was actually sort of cute in it's own way. "It certainly sounds like you make a manager. You're doing all you can, and it's a lot right now. Plus, if you didn't have the dream, people would be more vulnerable to those feelings that can press down on some people."

It was all true. Botan had the chance to warn some of the people she knew. Jo could keep herself in check, and knew to keep an eye on Castiel with his potential for pouting. Things could definitely be a lot worse. Which is why the girl went to sit and take a bit of a breather. With that final question she simply nodded, taking a few seconds before answering. "I'm checking on the safehouses when I have a chance. I'm not really a fighter, but I can get around quickly."

"D-don't push yourself too hard, Botan-san! Helping in anyway you can is good enough, even if you're not a fighter!" Watanuki instantly made room for her to sit, and as soon as she was down, the boy nodded.

"You should have something to eat or drink! Ah, there's not a lot in the way of things, but there's plenty of water and hot tea! And if you're hungry, I could make you some soup or a sandwich or something!"

"Ah, I'm not pushing too hard," she said. It wasn't a lie, not really. The spirit guide knew that there were other healers out there, so accepting that she didn't have to shoulder the entirety of injured people was enough of a comfort. Compared to others, she was in pretty good condition energy-wise and physically.

"A sandwich would be lovely, thank you," she accepted with a smile. Not only was she appreciative, but smiles and jokes did just as much to help people when those negative feelings kept pushing down.

"I can do that!" Watanuki nodded before heading off towards the kitchen area.

If there was anything Watanuki was proud of, it was cooking. A sandwich was never just a sandwich: there was always some sort of presentation or technique he used: just the right amount of ingredients, heated and toasted just right, cut in a pleasing manner: cooking wasn't only about taste... it was art!

The lanky boy headed back over to Botan quickly, passing off a warm cup of coffee to someone, asking how they were doing and if people needed anything--and then, a plate of artwork--I mean, a sandwich, was in front of Botan. There was also some rabbit-apple slices by the sandwich, which was cut into even triangles, crust gone.

"Sorry there's no crust if you like it," Watanuki stated. "...I'm saving them and cutting them up to make croutons for the potato soup."

Botan watched as the boy tended to the others at the safehouse, smiling just a bit. Some people could fight the witch's minions, or try to control the fires, but it's kindness from those like Watanuki that would probably do the best against the negative feelings that were pressing down on people. When the plate of food had been offered, the girl gave a look of genuine surprise before accepting the plate. "This looks amazing. You're really talented, aren't you?"

Smiling, she was about to take one of the apple slices until her hand paused right before touching the food. It looked so cute, how was she going to just eat it. Fishing for the PCD, the ferrygirl still managed to look amazed. "How very resourceful. Did you take a lot of cooking classes back home?"

In the meantime, she's just going to take a picture of the food. As weird as it was, Botan hadn't seen food prepared like this before. It had to be saved somewhere, right?

She was... taking a picture! Watanuki felt his face turn pink as the PCD captured the plating he had made her. Th-that wasn't necessary, was it?!?!

"A-ah, th-thank you, Botan-san!" Watanuki felt a small surge of pride rush up in him--he couldn't afford to let it go to his head, though!

When she inquired about the cooking classes, Watanuki merely shook his head, and a faint smile rose up on his face. "Ah, not at all. We have home economics at school, but I'm not really learning anything in it. I've... always been cooking, since I can remember."

"So you're a natural," Botan exclaimed. Smiling, she took a small bite from one of the sandwich triangles. "Are you considering becoming a professional?"

"I've thought about it," Watanuki stated with a nod of the head. "...Cooking is what I'm good at, and Yuuko-san always said I was the best." He made a rather silly face. "...And she's not one to idly hand out compliments, let me tell you."

Watanuki smiled to her. "...What about you Botan-san? Anything you're particularly good at?"

Getting compliments from a tough judge of sorts? As much as Watanuki seemed to be irritated by this Yuuko occasionally, it showed that this was also a skill to be very proud of. "Then you should definitely consider it! I bet you could even start something here that involves cooking.

"Ah, me?" She paused to think about it. There were some parts she wanted to avoid mentioning. Watanuki was an excitable type, so bringing up that she was a ferry girl, or commonly referred to as the grim reaper might raise his blood pressure too high. "I'm quite the flyer. When training for my job back home, I'd also get top marks in everything. I could even give you a ride when things are over, if you're not afraid of heights!"

"You fly?" Watanuki asked, and he held out his hands as if manning a steering wheel. "...Like, a plane?!"

"Well, no... Not quite," she replied, trying to find the best words. She just needed a few seconds- Ah, that might work out. "Remember how everyone has abilities? Well, I can fly with.. an oar."

"An..." Watanuki stared at her, and his head tilted in a comical way as his mind attempted to wrap around what she was saying. "...Ore?"

...A rock?

Or did she mean an oar, as in... a paddle...?

Either way, it didn't make sense!
