Sora held the heavy necklace in his hands and stared at it as Riku talked. Now he was kind of glad that he decided to give Riku his own necklace. Wearing both that one and this one at the same time wouldn't work well at all. He looked up from the pendant just in time to see Riku touch the crown he had given him. He unclasped the hook and put the chain around his neck. It took him a couple of seconds to reclasp it without being able to see, but he managed. The chain was a good length as well as sturdy, not too long that the pendant would disappear under his shirt but not too short that it would be too tight around his throat either.

"I kind of miss it." There is a pause while he realizes that he wasn't being entirely clear, "Watching the stars with you. We should do it again some time soon." He touched the necklace, tracing the edge of the star with his finger, "Thanks Riku. I really like it. I'll wear it all the time." And he would. He smiled at the sight of the wrapping paper.

"It has stars on it too! Did you do that on purpose?" It wasn't until Riku handed him the paper that he realized there was writing on it. It was definitely a good thing that he didn't just tear it apart to get to the present. Even after he read it, he just stared at it for a little while, "Might wanna." were the mumbled words that fell from his lips first.

When he looked up again, the shock had turned into something much more pleasant. He set the paper down on the table once more and slid forward, wrapping his arms around Riku's shoulder and this time just hugging him. He rested his cheek against Riku's, silver hair tickling his nose.

"Do you even have to ask?"

"I was wondering if you were ever gonna catch on." The amusement was clear in his voice as the other moved forward, wrapping his arms around his shoulders and bringing their cheeks together. Taking a deep breath he lifted his arms, one wrapping around shoulder chest and the other wrapping around his waist, pulling him closer until he was practically in his lap. He let out a small sigh of contentment, the warmth of the other's presence calming, comforting in a way that so little else was. He allowed the question to hang between them for a few moment, before taking another deep breath and letting it out on a soft sigh, pulling away just enough to shift, burying his head in the warmth of Sora's neck, lips pressing against the skin there softly.

"I want it to be official." Was that really so bad? He wanted them both to say yes, to agree to being in this relationship. He wanted them both to say the words. Because for once, it felt like this was actually going to work out, like maybe, this time, they were going to be allowed to be together. For the first time in eight months, he didn't wake up every morning afraid that he'd find the other gone. It was the smallest bit of security, the smallest bit of hope, but it was something he allowed himself to cling to, much as he was clinging to Sora now. "I want to be with you, Sora. More than anything. I just... want to make sure you want the same thing."

"I'm not that slow!" He laughs a little bit when Riku pulls him closer and just gets comfortable. A shiver ran down his spine when Riku kissed his neck but he did his best not to show a reaction. He willed the now-present goosebumps away from his exposed skin and just did his best to relax in Riku's grip. So much for keeping an eye out for Riku trying to kiss his neck. Oh well. It wasn't that he didn't like it, it was just that it brought forth such a strong reaction. So maybe he liked it too much? Oh well. Details for later.

"I do too." He rubs his cheek against Riku's slightly, not wanting to pull out of their hug. It was warm and comfortable. He could definitely get used to this kind of thing. He wasn't sure how many times he was going to think something along those lines, but it just kept coming back up. He rested his chin lightly on Riku's shoulder and just stayed there. He'd let Riku pull away this time if he wanted, "I like this and I definitely wouldn't mind if it was official at all."

A small smirk crossed his lips as he felt the other shiver, pressing his lips gently against that same spot before moving to another, repeating the process there, and in the spot right next to it and in the spot right next to that, enjoying the reactions his own actions brought. His lips pressed against the other's pulse point before he pulled away, not completely, but enough so that he could look at the other, arms slipping down until his hands were able to rest comfortable on his hips, as if he was trying to hold him in place, even if he knew he wasn't going anywhere.

"I like you." The words came out easily, a play on the other's words. Sure, he liked this too, but what he really liked was Sora, and just being able to be with him. Just being in the same room was more than enough. They didn't always have to hold each other, just being near each other was enough for him. "And now I get to call you mine."

The more he kissed the less Sora was able to reign in his responses. By the end of he was flushed, his heart beating erratically in his chest. He was breathing a little heavier than he would have liked and he was pretty sure there was a gasp in there somewhere. Part of him was relieved when Riku pulled back. It gave him a couple seconds to breathe. He didn't pull away though. He didn't want to let go. He wasn't even sure he wanted to stop whatever it was that Riku was doing, but a little voice somewhere whispered to hold on, even if only for a little longer.

But at that he couldn't help but laugh a little, "I bet a lot of people are going to be totally jealous."

Riku matched the sound with a little laugh of his own. "Of which one of us?" Because he could still remember how the last time Sora was here, Hanna had been jealous of him for getting so much of Riku's time. And while he kind of doubted that would be the case now (and he was pretty sure the other was just teasing, anyway. Sora's ego was no where as big as his.) the thought and memory attached to it was still an amusing one.

"Of me, duh. Have you looked at yourself recently?" He tugged a bit of Riku's hair and laughed, "I bet no matter where we went people would think you were a catch." A catch he was lucky enough to have. Riku could have been so many other places right now but he was here with him. Instead of letting himself go down that thought path though he just grinned, "Although I'm not too bad if I may say so myself."

For a moment, all he could do was stare. He felt the other's fingers in his hair, tightening and tugging, and he heard the other's laugh, but he couldn't quite believe the words. He knew he was attractive. He could see it just by looking in the mirror. Couple that with how ever many people had told him so since arriving here? And you equaled the fact that his ego had grown even larger than it normally was.

But Sora had never really told him that he found him attractive, before. He had known that there had to be some reason why Sora was with him. Yes, Sora was the type of person to look at what was in someone's heart first, but physical attraction still played a part, right?

But he had changed so much since coming here. His hair was shorter, brushing over his shoulders, the layer's still present even if they were less choppy, bangs pushed off to one side. His ears were pierced and he even had what most would consider a tattoo. And to him those were all things that just added to who he was and how he had changed inside. Even the scars had begun to bother him less over time (It helped that the once angry red and pink skin had started to fade to a lighter pink, and in places, even white, making them less noticeable.)

Yes he still didn't know how to respond. That he looked at himself all the time? That he already knew that people thought he was a catch? All of it seemed so empty. So instead his did the only thing he could think of.

Lifting a hand, he brushed the back of his fingers over Sora's cheek bone, a soft smile crossing his features. "You're beautiful, Sora. Don't you know that?"

You know that feeling when your brain totally deadpans and you can't manage to think a coherent thought no matter how hard you try? Because Sora is having one of those moments. He definitely made a couple different sounds trying to start a sentence in response but the touch combined with the words totally floored him.

Never in his entire lifetime had he ever expected to hear anyone tell him that they thought he was beautiful. Was beautiful even something someone should use to describe him? He just gaped for a moment or two before shaking his head. Yeah, he was definitely blushing. Then, master of words that Sora was, his next coherent words were just pure genius.

"Nu uh! I'm...plain."

Sometimes, somewhere in the back of his mind, he thought that maybe, just maybe, some of things he did, some of the things he said, were just so he could see that blush cross the other's features. Were just so he could see that color stain his cheeks and give them different hues, sometimes light pink and other times bright red. And the truth was Sora really was cute when he blushed, and he couldn't quite figure out why.

To him, Sora was beautiful, on the inside and out. He knew his heart, was connected to it in a way that allowed him to see into it, to know what was there, to have it all laid out before him easily. He was intelligent, if a little naive at times, if a little frustrating at times. But he believed in the good in people. He had believes in the good in him. He was loyal and determined. He was so much that Riku wasn't.

His fingers stroked downwards, coming to cup the other's chin, lifting it lightly. While it was what was on the inside that mattered most, what was on the outside wasn't so bad either. Sure those spikes were a little unusual, but so was Sora, and they matched him and his personality perfectly. And those eyes, that deep, simmering blue, (his favorite color, even if he would never readily admit it. The same color, almost exactly, as the runes on his back.) His features were soft, but they were meant to be.

Everything about Sora was beautiful to Riku. What anyone else might think, what anyone else's opinion might have been, it didn't really matter, because it would never change his.

"You're my light, Sora." The words felt weird on his tongue. He hadn't said them in so long, as least not to the person they were meant for. "And the light is beautiful."

Well, Riku you are pretty good at making Sora blush. It wasn't exactly a simple task. But then again it wasn't exactly a difficult one either. You just needed to know the right buttons to push. Regardless beautiful was never something ever considered himself to be, nor did he ever think he would be beautiful. Besides, that was a word that people used to describe girls wasn't it? Or did that kind of thing not matter?

That was the thing about the two of them. They complimented each other well. Sora was optimistic, Riku was better at looking at things from a logical standpoint. While both in extremes could be bad, they balanced each other out. Sora was pretty sure that, as great as he was, Riku could definitely do better. He had been glad to see Riku with Sango when he first got there. Glad, but also a little sad. He didn't understand that last part until later but one thing he thought when he saw the two of them was that they looked good together.

Did people think that about them too? Or was it something that same sex relationships weren't thought of as? He hadn't really met anyone who was against people of the same gender being together here so far, but he was told that some were offended by it. Which he didn't understand but oh well. But none of that really mattered because when Riku spoke next all of those thoughts just went right out the window.

He was pretty sure this was what it felt like for a person when their heart was trying to break out of their chest. Surprisingly it didn't hurt. It was an interesting feeling, one he would be hard pressed to describe if anyone asked him, but it spread through his entire torse and he couldn't help but smile up at Riku and trace his fingers over the back of his hand.

"Riku I..." he just shook his head and leaned forward, wrapping his arms around the other once more, "Okay. As long as you're the one calling me beautiful."

His lips curled into a smile as the other's arms wrapped around him, allowing his own to do the same, wrapping around Sora's waist and pulling him closer, once more burying his face in the other's warm neck, sighing and allowing himself to be contented with the embrace. Even if he couldn't stop the small snort that came out at the other's words.

"Who else would be complimenting you like that, huh?" He pulled back, just enough to allow his eyes to meet Sora's, the bright green dancing lightly in the dim light with amusement, clearly showing that he was teasing.
