Summary: Killua convinces Rome to dig pit traps around Adstring as a way to measure whether or not people are idiots. If you fall in, you are an idiot. If you don't, you're not. Rome sort of goes along with it because it kind of makes sense.

"Conducting vitally important research." So very deadpan. He didn't even turn to face her when he spoke, only afterward as he let the digging tool rest on his shoulder.

"It is very important."

He looks up toward Rhyme earnestly.

"Subjective terms confuse me."

"Then you almost made yourself a casualty to the objective definition of 'dumbass.'" Smart ass to the core apparently, even when talking to Rhyme.

"That would have been unfortunate," he gathers, but continues to dig. It isn't that he's cold to Rhyme- but rather that he doesn't understand that what they're saying is in any way hurtful. It's objective, after all, and the facts are the facts.

"I was just explaining," as innocent as a lamb. "That's what we're doing."

"How is it cruel, if our experiment makes it true or false?"

He looks up at her, innocently.

"If you fall into the hole, you are objectively an idiot. You cannot deny that fact- how then, is it offensive?"

"Sometimes, the truth hurts," Killua shrugged, unwilling to budge on the subject. People could get bothered over the smallest things. It wasn't as if they were lining the hole with spikes. "If you had fallen in, you wouldn't be worth talking to anyway."
