As Jinx stumbled through the snow, she ran her tongue along each and every one of her teeth. Every time, she counted thirty. Sure, it was two short of what most people had, but it was normal for the girl. It meant that none of them had been knocked out in the fight. Surprising, really, with the amount of times she was hit in the face. That face of hers was bruised, swollen, bloody, and anything but pretty at the moment.
Though it was difficult to think, she recognized where she was. This was the part of the city Rei's Temple was in. If she just kept walking, maybe she could make it there before she fell unconscious. The sorceress had a bad limp, though. Trudging around in high heels with a twisted ankle wasn't one of the best plans, but it wasn't her own. This was where Lucifer dumped her. Bloody, beaten, thin clothing in shreds, he just left her. What else was there to do but limp to the Temple? Better than passing out on the ground and dying of hypothermia.
Crack!
Too bad it looked like that was the plan. If her shoe choice was more sensible, then she might have made it. However, one of those thin heels snapped under her minuscule weight, sending her crashing to the ground. Jinx cried out in pain, mostly because there wasn't a single body part uninjured enough for her to soften her blow on. Her gray skin made the already awful bruises coating her body look much, much worse. Several wounds were still leaking, staining the white ground red. Several of her fingers were mangled, pointing in directions they really shouldn't have been able to.
Well...at least the snow felt nice on her wounds. That was a plus. The sun would be coming up soon, so less of a chance of being eaten by the native wildlife. Dwelling on the positives was relatively easy with that concussion of hers. All this time, she had no idea she had collapsed on someone's front lawn. That could have been a plus, too.
