Summary: Castiel is crazy. Rei goes to check on him. And nearly gets stabbed in the face. How ungrateful. 8|
She had been coping with this event the best way that she knew how -- by refusing to believe it. It was only stubbornness -- a special type of will -- that kept Hino Rei from slipping into much the same position as her angel friend. She refused to believe the dreams were real, so they weren't real -- that was it.
But it was different for someone who lived in fear of losing it.
And so, she tiptoed quietly toward the angel's room, oddly uneasy. He had been getting worse, day by day, even though Rei insisted that it was only an event, that these dreams of being trapped in Heaven were only dreams, and that he should trust her when she said he needed to keep calm and carry on. But it hadn't really worked. And she had a horrendous feeling in the pit of her stomach that something was going to happen.
So, naturally, Rei decided to confront it, and she opened the doors lightly, not bothering to knock, as was habit.
