Summary: Riku breaks up with Sango. And promptly runs away to daddy's house.
He knew running away wasn't the answer. He knew it and yet it was still the course of action he was taking. He had left his PCD at home, sitting on his bed, the ringer turned off so it wouldn't bother the other residents of the house, along with a note, carefully written and laid on the pillow. He knew Sora would come looking for him sooner or later. Hopefully the note would be enough to keep the other from coming after him. Not that he had left any hints of where he was going. No, all the note said was that he would be gone for a couple of days, that he wouldn't be danger and that he would be back in a couple of days.
He had wondered around the city for a while, letting the cool air blow across his skin and through his hair, clearing his head and allowing him to think about what had happened fully. About the choices he had made, about why he had made those choices. About how his life was going, about why it was going the way it was. About everything that had taken place since Sora had made his return to Adstringendum.
It was after nightfall before he finally ended up on Ukitake's door step, knocking on the heavy wood lightly, hands shoved deep into his pockets, head hung. Ukitake was the only person he could go to who wouldn't pry. He would ask what was wrong, yes, and Riku would be able to tell him in as few words as possible and have him understand. Adjusting the strap that resting against his shoulder and redistributing the weight of the bag that hung at his hip, he knocked once more, before standing back, arms crossing over his chest and waited.
