Taking care of business~ [Backdated to September 24th]
Characters: Fran, Hitsugaya, Hinata, Sasuke, Kurapica and Raven
When: September 24th
Where: An unspecified, wooded area of Adstring
Rating: Pg-13 at most
Summary: Fran and Hitsugaya go over the plans for the next underground exploration. Fun times are had all around.
Fran was hiding in the trees of the area in which he had sent out to his teammates, releasing the masking illusion that covered the scenery as they notified him one by one. It was only when all of them had arrived did he jump down from the tree.
What a crowd. This was going to be fun.
Fran stepped into the clearing, appearing from what seemed like thin air, purple clouds of mist evaporating around him. His glance swept across the small crowd that was formed as he mentally counted the bodies. All were present. Good.
“Now that you’re all finally here, I’m going to begin. Standing around is really useless. Please let me speak without interruption.”
He cleared his throat.
“Ah, maybe telling you what exactly this mission is for would be the best place to start. To put it simply-“
His eyes gave another sweep of the area, just to make sure that absolutely no one else was here. Precaution, he insisted to himself. Not paranoia.
“Our end goal is to find the scientists and return them to the animus, as they ordered me to do so. Apparently, this should help with the final goal of sorting this place out again. I’ve shared a lot about the animus with you before, but if you need to know anything else, please ask.”
He paused for a moment, taking in the reactions of his teammates.
“That being said, there are some stubborn people here who want to stay. Doing this may lead to everyone getting sent home, therefore, we can’t tell anyone. Rumors spread fast and some of those people are stupidly powerful and would mess up our plans.”
“Related to that, this has to stay entirely secret. I do not trust the new police force, even if some of you are on it. They can’t know about any of this. Why?”
He rose a finger.
“Because we may have to do some ‘despicable’ things to get our goals. Killing, I suppose, may be necessary, as well as holding the ones we find hostage. I’m told the police don’t really like that. And that Jean Louis guy- he’s a politician. You shouldn’t really trust those either.”
Lowering his hand, he cast a rather judging glance at everyone.
“I would say ‘if you don’t want to do this, you are free to leave’, but I really can’t, now that you know this much. I can’t really force you to participate, but if this information gets out, I will know, and I might have to silence you. I’d rather not do that, please. So it’s in your best interest to stay here.”
His features returned to their apathetic stare. Now for the boring part.
“As for preparations- I’m not going to follow the popular and idiotic trend of rushing into these sorts of things without any supplies. I’m thinking we should plan this to be a couple of days, perhaps more. We need to stock up on food and water, so if the next event does not alter your mind into an unrecognizable state, please try to collect those things. Try to look for other basic supplies as well- blankets, can openers, knives- really, you should know what things are necessary for survival by this point. And as for weapons-“
He paused, trying to think of the best way to say this.
“Please do not bring guns. They make too much noise. Anything else is fine.”
It was a poor excuse, but he hoped that these teammates would be obedient. He didn’t want that variable compounding this mission.
“The last time I went down there, it was unoccupied. But I heard noises from behind the caved-in walls, and evidence of human activity. There are probably monsters down in there, or something like that. Please be prepared to fight.”
"....Ah, also, Aang was sent home a while ago. We need new members. If you can recommend anyone who isn't insane, please tell us. I can send this information to them by the PCD."
Giving one final sweep with his eyes, he gave a sigh. That was a lot.
“Any questions? Your other leader can answer them as well, I hope.”
