The closest place was also the safest place, for once. Lucifer flew as far as he could, but ultimately ended up on the doorstep slumped against the door. He had been beaten badly--his vessel was dripping blood, his Grace unable to patch it all up--but he still had the strength to force the door open.
And fall in a graceless heap in the hallway.
